Ramada by Wyndham Virginia Beach

I made a reservation for an ocean view room made a 3hour drive to end up in a dump across the street very uncomfortable room noise unbearable I,m 64 years old had trouble just getting my luggage to the room very little sleep no rest at all terrible vacation

This hotel is in need of a serious upgrade. Roof is leaking and after heavy rain, fitness room was flooding. There were bubbles in our wall indicating water/moisture in the wall. Air conditioning kept cutting out and temperature was 80 degrees inside. Water stained the ceiling above shower.

We stayed here for five nights for a family beach vacation. You check in the plaza and go across the street to the motel. The parking garage entrance is in between the outdoor pool and Sweet Frog. The staff was friendly but they seem overwhelmed with all the customers. We booked the 2 queen bed suite. I thought the couch was a pull out bed but it wasn't. It is just a love seat. The ac on the living room side worked but the ac on the bed side was broken. They put a plug in fan on that side. The temperature was in the triple digits for that week so not having ac was killer. My husband let them know and they sent the maintenance man but he said he couldn't fix it and that at least the air worked on the other side. Half the lights don't work. The beds are not comfortable and there was already sand in the sheets when we arrived. There were 2 bathrooms in the room! That was a surprise because it doesn't say that in the description online. That was nice to have a separate bathroom for the kids and adults. The outdoor pool is nice to cool off but it is dirty. The inside pool had such a strong chlorine smell that we only went there once. The gym is small and half the equipment was broken and didn't work. It also has a strong weird smell. The location is nice. The motel is on the side with all the shops and stores so you can just walk. You only have to walk across the street and go through the main hotel to get to the boardwalk and beach. Bottom line is you get what you pay for. If you want something cheap and close to the beach and you don't mind a basic motel then this is doable.

LIED!!! OUTDOOR POOL IS CLOSED!!! If it weren't for the explicit inquiries in making my reservation at a hotel in a resort city with an outdoor pool at the oceanfront...for specific days...specifically inquired about the permit and passing its occupancy requirements by the city of Virginia Beach. I asked very specific questions of personnel higher than the front desk clerk. All to come to find out the week before that NO there is no outside open pool the week before Memorial Day, not until MAY 30...LIED right to my face. Very specific questions with absolute "yes our pool will be open early, it always open early!!! Liar liar pants on fire! Let me buy you a pissed off review! OUTDOOR POOL CLOSED!

Stayed at an amazing hotel two doors down that is under Wyndham so I knew the brand was good for extending our stay. Walked into the lobby and the line was long and most people had complaints like towels for example. When I saw the workers at the desk i wanted a refund instantly but i gave them a chance to prove me wrong. The room was horrible and needed repairs, peeling and patch work. I took lysol wipes that had a rough side and used them to clean the fabric in chairs, stains on walls, phone, faucets, random surfaces and everything turned colors. Shower had a handicap sprinkler with limited motion, toilet handle was loose and get this, the A/C cover was off like a tech ran out of time and it didn't work. No room service so you have to request towels before a certain time, but if you leave items behind the non existent room service throw your stuff away or send it off to another country. I called same day and immediately was fed crow about my stuff, placed on hold and no call back. No integrity. They cant get away with this and inspectors need to shut them down. You get what you pay for but Wyndham should sue them and force their name off of that this run down horror show. They can't keep a cleaning staff there for a reason. Fish Tails is equally crappy

This is a fantastic place to stay. The staff is amazing, rooms very clean, great restaurants near by. Perfect location. Will for sure be our new go to spot at VA beach!! If i had to critique i would say the fish tales restaurant inside is just ok, not much to choose from. Maybe they are new. Not sure. But plenty of places very close by to eat at. Shopping, icecream, all of that is very close. Felt clean and safe the entire stay.
