White Marlin Inn - Virginia Beach

The room was dirty. Smelled like cigarettes. Bathroom door was cracked at the bottom. Location of refrigerator was in front of the sink. Sheets were not very clean and looked nothing like the pictures online.

You get what you pay for. It close by the beach.

The only positive thing about the White Marlin Inn in Virginia Beach is its walking distance to the boardwalk and beach. Beyond that, our stay was awful and deeply disappointing. At check-in, I was told my booking had been cancelled that morning with no email, call, or explanation — extremely unprofessional after traveling 13 hours. Our room was filthy and clearly not cleaned. Though booked as non-smoking, it reeked of smoke. The bedding had burn holes, stains, and looked unwashed; dust, ashes, and cigarette remnants were everywhere. The AC barely worked, was caked in dust, and smelled of mildew. The chair was filthy, the TV didn’t work, lighting was poor, and nearly everything was broken, rusted, or beaten down. The bathroom was a health hazard with broken faucets, stained towels, and a strong mildew odor. The “kitchen” had a hole in the ceiling patched with paper and tape, filthy cabinets, and the “closet” was just a tiny space with one bent hanger. Safety was a serious concern — half the locks on the door were broken, and questionable activity around the property made it feel unsafe. Spiderwebs and dust lined the walls and corners, adding to the neglected, unsanitary conditions. For the price paid, this was unacceptable. We couldn’t wait to leave. This motel is unsafe, unsanitary, and should not be operating. All pictures attached are from our room. We intend to report this inn and strongly advise avoiding it. Spend the extra $100 for a proper place.

Stopped in VA on our way home from Florida and it was late or we would have immediately left. Parking lot is too small, cars too close together and trashy. Seemingly in a rough area, the rooms felt really gross. Mold on the shower curtain, and the place is in very outdated and in poor repair. The price was a lot higher than what was booked for and they said they didn't go by the rates online. We checked out asap in the morning and found another we hotel beachfront, and nice for less. We were never refunded for the 2nd night even though we were told we would be.

Pathetic, unhygienic, dirty and disgusting rooms. Had to change room 3 times where even light tv was also not working. Foul smell in rooms. No dustbin in room.
