The Oceanfront Inn - Virginia Beach

Seaside hotels with views of the beach aren't cheap, especially in season. And the Oceanfront Inn is no exception. It is, however, much more affordable than the brand-name properties that flank it along Atlantic Ave. That's why we booked it for a short 2-night stay on the way home to North Carolina after a weekend with friends in Maryland. But there's a reason for the difference in price. While the rooms are spacious and clean, with comfortable beds, a large TV, fixtures that are in working order (including the AC) and a balcony overlooking the boardwalk and the Neptune statue, the entire facility is incredibly out of date (right down to the popcorn ceilings) and in desperate need of renovation. There's also no outdoor pool ... and the indoor pool that is on site looked like it could use a good cleaning. On the plus side, the hotel is just steps from the beach, plenty of free parking, friendly, helpful staff and clean rooms. It's not the Hilton. That's next door. But It's a decent place to stay if you're looking to do Virginia Beach on a budget.

Overpriced…. Less than single ply toilet paper…. Toilet wouldn’t flush….. then after they said they fixed it….. it overflowed on the floor……maintenance guy used a towel to dry the floor….. had to complain that the floor was nasty from the overflow and bacteria is a concern…. Was told there was no one to clean the floor… after my look of disgust, they sent someone to mop the floor. That l person was a delight. Only good part about our visit. Coffee maker but no coffee pot….. cold night and couldn’t get the heat on when I woke up at 2am. No worries I figured that out myself… Just not enjoyable at all. And will never stay again. Will let all and any who will listen…. Not to waste their money at this hotel. Paid almost twice what we did the night before at a much nicer spot. 😔🥺😒

I knew was not going be a resort but the pictures show nice rooms and the location was perfect. Well, the location was perfect but the hotel is more like a motel. Pros: Perfect location, close to everything. The people at the front desk were very nice a professional all the time. The rooms are all ocean view and have nice new floor but that will be all. Cons; Very dated rooms, the furniture very old and warm out, the bathroom has new sink but the toilet is like kids toilet and the shower extremely small, I'm 5'4" and I could easily touch the ceiling that looks like from last century. It wasn't dirty but very, extremely dated. It doesn't have a closet, only hangers in an open space. We stay three nights, had two rooms and we had to call the front desk several times. All the issues were resolved but we didn't need to go through that. The toilet was leaking when we arrived, the shower didn't have curtain, the remote control didn't work, they didn't refresh the room, and when I called around 4pm, they sent someone with clean towels and a broom. Why they didn't refresh my room? Don't know but I was in shock when the guy passed me the broom, lol. The restaurant it's not even worth to talk about, the pregnant waitress was very rude, long wait a food awful, don't even think about going there and the bartender was google how to mix my drink. Bottom line, I won't stay in this hotel again and I don't recommend to anyone, unless your expectations are for a good motel
