Sheraton Virginia Beach Oceanfront Hotel

Shame on management! We were bitterly disappointed with our experience. On the arrival one elevator out of two (also used by staff) was out of order, while the hotel was fully occupied. By the evening, the other elevator was broken too. The restrooms at the lobby were in disrepair and mainly not working. The trash loading deck stayed open featuring awful smell and litter spread , seeping on to the side walk towards beach. We wanted to rebook and go anywhere else near by for the remaining tree days and guess what? There were no rooms available for our dates. The staff did their best considering all the challenges, but could not do enough to make the stay pleasant. I feel for them and blame the management. What a disgrace for the hotel chain!

It was not a great experience. Terrible room service, they never come to clean the room. No towels, toilet paper , elevator down and the room phone was not working.Also $25 for parking a day is not a good look.

The check-in process was less than efficient. While booking directly through Marriott, you are offered to pick your check-in time. While it’s not guaranteed, most hotels try to get you checked in still on time for a 4 pm check in. This was not our case. We were told they had no clue how long it was going to take to clean the rooms and have them ready for guests. The front desk said they were trying to get in contact with housekeeping, but no one was answering. Finally, we were given room keys right at 4 p.m. We came into a room that was hurriedly cleaned; the cushions were flipped up on the armchair. We had no towels in our room. The shower drain cover was flipped up and exposing the drain. The toilet paper holder was falling off the wall. The pool was absolutely disgusting, like it had not been cleaned in months. When checking with the front desk about the missing towels, we were told the linen truck had just shown up and our room was on a running list to get towels. Again, no time frame was provided. This was at 9:15 at night. How is someone supposed to shower? We ended up having to go buy our own towels. After talking with other guests in passing, they all had similar experiences. One family even told us they were not able to check in until 9:30 at night. There were elevators that had not been inspected and were desperately in need of it, especially in the parking garage. Avoid this hotel and book elsewhere.

Horrible check in process, no toilet paper in the room, super loud a/c wakes you up all night, trash and dirty towels not removed from the hallways, pool was always dirty with no towels available, breakfast was gross...and no one seemed to care. Didn't want to give them any more of my money so I cannot rate any other food. Definitely not what I expected from a Marriott brand.
