Holiday Inn & Suites Virginia Beach - North Beach

Rented room for 1 night at $297.00 so that my family could enjoy the indoor pool. Family included 19 yr old daughter, 3 sons ages 4,5&8. And my ex wife’s 26yr old sister (autistic and epileptic) I have legal guardianship over.. booked later In the day for one night arrived about 8pm. Was told by staff checking us in pool was closed for whatever reason and that it would definitely be open back up by 9am next morning. Was told I’d be upgraded to late checkout for free so that kids could enjoy pool before we left. Next morning pool still not opened and was not given late checkout. Had it not been for the staff member I spoke with I would have had 30 mins to get everyone packed up and out the room. One saving grace was staff member that morning. Will never return

Location was good. Facilities were decent. The entire place is due for a remodel. The room furniture was definitely getting pretty worn. The hotel was very busy, but the areas around the pool were routinely very dirty, despite the constant presence of the pool attendant.

We only stayed one night but loved our time there. Can’t wait to check it out during the summer time when warm enough for outdoor pools. Thank you!

Nice pool areas and right on beach

If you want your kids to have an absolute blast during your Virginia Beach stay, this is the place to stay. The most kid friendly resort we could have found for our family. My kids are 5 and 7 and did not want to leave here after 5 nights. They were entertained all day with 3 pools, indoor and outdoor, a movie theater room that plays movies all day, and most of all, the kids camp that is truly open all day. There was one employee in particular, and her team, that really made our stay special. Izzy might be the most valuable employee in this establishment. The way she connected with our two children, planned and constructed crafts and games for them, was absolutely 5 stars. She developed a relationship with them and they made her cards before they left because they were going to miss her so much. We spent hours in the kids camp everyday which always had fresh popped popcorn for the movie room next door as well. My kids did new crafts in this space every single day and was truly their favorite part. Another huge perk of this hotel, Kids eat FREE at every restaurant on the property and with a good variety on the kids menu. This hotel was great, but Izzy was the one who made the experience 5 stars for us.

I am currently in day 4 of my 5 night stay at the Holiday Inn & Suites North Beach and unfortunately the most I can give is a 2 star review for my stay. The bad: Upon arrival we were disappointed at the status of our room. We paid for an ocean front room, but our sliding glass door has been broken since we arrived. There have been 3 maintenance men here everyday to fix it but it cannot be fixed. Picture showed the door is bent at the bottom. Every morning we have to go down to the desk to ask for new towels and to take our old ones. Our room has not been serviced once since we have been here. We arrived on Monday for a 4 pm check in. Our room was not ready until 5:15 and we had to stand outside with our luggage and wait. When we got up to our room the shower was filled with sand. The elevators are hot and very smelly with wet moldy carpet on the bottoms. Everyone races into the small elevators because the doors slam shut on you quickly after opening. Getting our luggage up only one story to the 2nd floor was an hour long chore and we were drenched in sweat. Inside the shower I looked up and see black mold growing on drywall ceiling. Photo attached. The vents are covered in dust. Rooms are not clean. Feels damp. A woman named Marcie reached out to me mid week to ask me how my stay was going and I say 2 stars. She asked why and I listed everything above and she never responded again via text. Breakfast is 20 dollars per adult and you cannot take any food to go. The good: kids eat free for all meals which is awesome. Hotel in great location and end of boardwalk. The square whale is a great place to eat. The kids camp is 5 stars with great workers. They are the reason for my 2nd Star. The gym is only ok but random dusty electrical cords just messed about. Photo attached. Also has a movie room next to kids camp. This is a great hotel for kids but it could be done so much better with more care. It almost seems like the hotel has too much to handle. 3 pools all great for kids but 2 pools very dirty. Never saw one person cleaning pool at any time. Dead roach floating in pool. Tons of sand and bugs. All you have to do is skim it every few hours. Inside pool is cool but bottom very dirty. Can tell hasn’t been cleaned in ages. It seems the staff is always struggling and behind. The hotel needs major updating which hasn’t seemed to be done in 25 years. Carpets old and very musty. Sad because the hotel has great potential but is aging badly. There is great stuff here but a hotel room should always be clean and ready for its guest. Free of mold and caked on dust. Having your room serviced daily is to be expected. Too bad.
