Villa Madeleine - Bordeaux

The building and the garden are superb. The welcome is warm and the services are up to par. The rooms are spacious and well equipped, the bedding is of good quality. The only downside, but important enough to be highlighted: the access constraints. We do not have keys and are dependent on the owners to enter and leave the property. The internal regulations and schedules are very strict and you are asked to leave the premises at 11 a.m. and not return until 5 p.m. Also, very little freedom to come and go, little independence. In the evening, the owners wait for you to open the door if you are not dining on site, which means you have to come back early so as not to disturb... it's quite a shame, because we had the impression of constantly disturbing and having to ask permission. This is the first time this has happened to us in a B&B. Also, it is impossible to fully enjoy the weekend. You will have to organize your days in advance and forget about any possible time to rest on site during the afternoon. The swimming pool is not accessible during the day, only from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., when you are allowed to return.
