Hotel Mallku Cueva

The hotel itself is very cool and quaint- great decor built into a rock. Very cave like and low light ambiance. The community area is a big space and comfortable. We played games there and had plenty of room. The actual rooms are small and have very low ceilings in door ways ( my husband had to duck his head). The food was mediocre. Staff was friendly. Wifi doesn’t work well, but in fairness it is in the middle of nowhere and hopefully you are on vacation and not working! The water pressure and water heat was great the first night when there wasn’t many people in the hotel, but no hot water the next day when the hotel was much busier. All and all, I’d stay here again.

Very disappointed. Tiny rooms with openings so small I hit my head twice on the door just trying to go to the bathroom. The bathroom fixtures were wobbly, and the ventilation poor. The internet was dropped repeatedly and the food was too basic even by standards of remote hotels in Bolivia.

Carla checked us in at quite a late hour, but was very helpful, with an excellent command of English. Rooms were quirky, carved into the rocks behind. Dinner & breakfast buffets were limited, but perfectly adequate. Very clean & we enjoyed our stay very much.

Hotel had all the amenities we desired at this remote location in Bolivia. Staff was friendly, food, even the vegetarian option, was quite good. We had an excellent one night stay during our Bolivia tour.
