This review concerns the restaurant only, as we have not stayed at the hotel. We decided to go despite lackluster reviews. We'd already been to their restaurant once before, 3 years earlier, and we had a positive experience the first time. The place is beautiful, candlelit, cozy and inviting and it has so much potential but clearly, the current management is not interested in living up to that potential, shame! The food wasn't badf but the service is disinterested. We ordered some starters and two main courses. The starters were ok, but nothing special. For the main course, we ordered a specific side of potatoes that were on the menu (not french fries). The dishes arrived with french fries and only when I asked why did they say; 'oh, we don't have those'. The lomo, which we ordered medium rare came very well done and dry and hard. My husband pointed out that this was not how we ordered it and sent it back and asked for a new one. The waitress came back 2 minutes later saying "no, the chef says this is medium rare"! And also, if you want another one, it will take about 30 mintes as we are very busy! Now, we were one of only 3 tables in the whole restaurant, so if that's busy, I don't know how they'd handle it is they were full. But, given the reviews they get, I assume that doesn't happen all that often! (In fairness, they did not charge us for the meat, but still!) We declined the 30-minute replacement meal, finished what we did get and then ordered dessert, to which the waitress responded: "Oh, we don't have dessert!" OMG!! This place does not take either themselves or their customers seriously, clearly! At the end of the meal, we were the only customers left and it seemed the staff couldn't get rid of us quickly enough. The waitresses and the kitchen staff left right away, some of them before us, leaving only one poor guy behind to take care of the cleanup. This could be an amazing restaurant, but clearly some changes need to be made in the kitchen, service staff and management!

El hotel es muy bonito y en general tranquilo exceptuando por que queda a un par de cuadras de la plaza del pueblo y se escucha los eventos que allí tengan. Un aspecto a mejorar es el servicio. En la noche de 31 rñde dociembre reservamos para cenar a las 7 00. Muy temprano. La comida fría, sirvieron los platos fuertes antes que la entrada y preguntaron que si en serio queríamos la entrada antes del plato fuerte (si, en serio preguntaron eso).

No lo recomiendo. Muy caro para lo que es.
Pagué 420 dólares por noche en un hotel que tiene limitantes serias en cuanto a infraestructura. Las puertas son antiguas y se cierran con un candado escolar. La habitación duplex da a la calle y no tiene control de ruido. Me desperté a las 5 am cuando pasó el primer camión y me dormí a las 11:30 pm cuando acabaron un partido de basketball en la calle. Tuvimos que dormir la segunda noche en una habitación de menor valor pero silenciosa, pero el hotel no tiene un sistema de servicio al cliente. Las niñas del servicio son muy queridas pero no tienen entrenamiento profesional hotelero. Todo lo tienen que preguntar via chat al dueño.
La casa es bonita pero funciona como si fuera una finca alquilada. Pienso que la relación precio/oferta es muy mala. Definitivamente hay mejores opciones a menor precio. No lo recomiendo.

Great cozy hotel with a great location! We loved our stay, especially the breakfast outside in the pergola. This is one of the oldest hotels in Villa de Leyva, and is run quite well. Walking distance to many great restaurants and the central plaza.

Muy baja utilización por lo que no se cuenta con el servicio mínimo necesario para la operación. Buenas instalaciones pero la habitación que nos asignaron estaba sin mantenimiento.

Property and staff are wonderful. The only negative is that there is no onsite parking and is 2 1/2 blocks away.
