The hotel is very unique, over 100 years old. Vintage but not old, with French influence and has style. I love the hotel very much. The bed and pillow are comfortable. Like the aroma of shower gel and shampoo. Staff are very friendly and helpful! If you stay there, please go to the roof top to enjoy the view.

Review of Bordoy Grand House Algarve
Our stay at the Bordoy Grand House Algarve was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely personal — every staff member made us feel completely at home, without being overbearing.
The hotel itself is stunning. It’s beautifully restored with vintage charm and elegant touches throughout. We loved the rooftop pool and bar area — the perfect place to unwind with views over the Guadiana River. The location is ideal too, just a short stroll from the marina and town square.
One of the highlights was the food. Breakfast was a delight — fresh, high-quality, and served in a peaceful setting. We also had dinner at the Grand Salon Restaurant and it was incredible — a fine dining experience with local flair and beautifully presented dishes.
The little touches made all the difference — from the turn-down service to the thoughtfully curated interiors. We left feeling relaxed, pampered, and already planning our return.

Lovely hotel belle epoqe style. Cool Beach Club connected to the hotel 2 km away. Good value for the Price. Friendly staff.

Visited for cocktails and had a lovely chat with the bar man and another guest We used to stay here many years ago and always love this area and the marina Had wanted to book but they had just opened that day (new owners) cocktails were fabulous 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 love Vila real love the view and hotel is lovely

We found ourselves outside the Grand House on the evening 10th June, unable to find a taxi to take us back to our hotel in Altura. I went in and asked lady at desk if she could give us a number for taxi. The lady Claudia,told us to take as seat,offered us water and called a taxi We just wanted to thank Claudia for her kindness.The next time we are in the area we will be booking a couple of nights at the Grand House Once again many thanks.

The portuguese expression "impecable" sums it up. Excellent service, acommodation and location.. You can walk everywhere with some good food options nearby Exquisite (small) details around the hotel. Excellent breakfast. Brilliant.

Wir hatten das Grand House für April gebucht und bezahlt. 2 Wochen vor dem Termin wurde die Buchung vom Hotel storniert. Wir mussten kurzfristig eine Alternative (- die noch teuerer war! -) suchen, um die Flugbuchungen noch nutzen zu können. Die an das Grand House vorausbezahlten Tarife sind bis heute nicht erstattet. Der Telefonanschluss des Hotels ist tot, mails werden nicht beantwortet. Der neue Betreiber, die Bordoy Hotels aus Spanien, reagiert ebensowenig. Die Bewertungen auf dieser Seite seit Januar 2025 (und vom August 2024!) sagen alles. Die Kennzeichnung mit 5 Sternen ist inzwischen ein schlechter Witz!

They cancelled my stay due to take place at the end of February. Initially I was told that a refund would be made when they reopened at at the end of that month. then it was to be mid-March. Late March I was told they were "getting refunds ready". Since then they have ignored my emails. Tried telephoning today to find their published number is "unavailable". Looks like almost 2000 Euros down the swanney!

The hotel is still closed. They have just cancelled our booking made over 9 months ago for the last week in April. They will not give a refund until some time in May! But they tell us that 'please rest assured that no charges will be applied'. How kind of them!
