The hotel itself is amazing. Wonderful views, great spa, perfect service. It’s just a bit outside of Porto. Expect to walk 10-15 minutes to get to anything.

An excellent hotel. Definitely 5 star. Great location, fantastic view of Porto, wonderful service. Nothing too much trouble from all the very attentive staff (across all areas). Great bedrooms, lovely breakfast. Gym was good, could add a little more equipment, indoor and outdoor pools great.

Blimey, I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think I've found perfection. This joint is the bee's knees and then some. The staff are proper stars, always on the ball. The whole setup is slicker than a greased pig, but still feels cozy as anything. You'd be barmy not to check it out!

Staff was super friendly. We were greeted right away and made to feel at home. Hotel was clean and classy. Would stay here again! We had an issue with our rental car and Bruno went out of his way to help us out. He helped us contact our rental company as well as translate. Made a stressful situation less stressful! Really appreciate how everyone made us feel welcomed ❤️

My husband and I stayed here for our last 2 days in Portugal and it was well worth it. Amazing hotel with beautiful views of Porto. The spa was amazing and the amenities were perfect. The staff is phenomenal and extremely kind. Great breakfast and very nice balconies. Slightly hard to navigate just due to the size but didn’t take away from the trip

Stayed at this hotel for the last 2 days of our trip to Portugal. This is a first class hotel in every aspect. Rooms are clean and first class, amenities from the pools, spa, restaurants on property and people working in every department. Everyone did an excellent job

Old, stuffy, and unpleasant attitude and vibe. We spent over $1000 Euros on a wine tasting (Master Class - which was wonderful), and was confusingly denied our multiply confirmed dinner reservation. They begrudgingly and rudely offered us a table, however we no longer felt welcome. And unceremoniously and happily left that caustic and toxic environment for a much friendlier place down the street. We were insulted and would add one final word: AVOID.

Our first stop — we had a wonderful introduction to Portugal by staying at this family owned hotel with gorgeous panoramic views of Porto and the Duoro River. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by staff and offered a complimentary drink. Since our rooms were not yet ready, we enjoyed a relaxing lunch on the patio taking in the sights. The walk to and from the hotel to Porto was a scenic one if not strenuous at parts. We could have opted for Ubers but walking was way more fun — as long as you have the proper foot attire — and pay attention to the cars on the road. Our room was very charming, well lit and spacious — especially the bathroom. Breakfasts were exceptional. I could have happily stayed a few more nights but we had lots more exploring to do in this fabulous country. However when we return to Porto, the Yeatman will be our hotel of choice.

On the Gaia side of the Duoro river, this is a world class hotel. The staff are helpful and friendly. A courtesy car can take you to and from local sites. Built on the side of a hill, rooms have unobstructed views of the Duoro river and Porto. Great experience.

Stayed here for a business trip, although leaving the hotel I had left a pair of AirPod pros on nightstand when checking out. I had realized a few mins after I had left for the airport that I had left them behind. I had called them to tell them the issue and start a claim within the hour I left the hotel for them to be delivered back home. They said it wasn’t an issue. Later that day I saw the tracking of the AirPods leave the hotel and being stolen by the staff into the main city. I had called back 24 hours later asking what happen to the headphones. They told me to give my info to them so they could call back. I never heard back. I called again a couple days later and they kept saying their manager isn’t there. I still haven’t heard back about them stealing $250 headphones from my room. They should have did the right thing and shipped them back like they said they would. Instead the staff stole it and till today I can still see them being used at the local gym by the hotel lol. A shame.

Perhaps our expectations were too high--a good friend had praised the Yeatman so we were very excited when we were dropped off at the beautiful entrance to the hotel. The view is amazing and possibly worth the price of a stay, but the service and room condition was not up to expectations. A call to the front desk and a visit to the front desk to inquire about when we could expect our bags to be delivered to the room did not produce any bags. A little over an hour after check-in our bags finally arrived with the bellman stating "My colleague forgot to deliver them". Friends traveling with us received their bags promptly. The room is showing some wear and tear and could use a refresh. We dined off-site and when we returned to our room after 10:00 pm housekeeping had forgotten our turn-down service. Certainly I am capable of turning down my own bed, but in a highly rated place like the Yeatman this was disappointing. The breakfast buffet was underwhelming, and service wasn't sharp and crisp: Strawberry jam bowl was empty. I politely notified a waiter and asked if he could bring some jam to the table. 30 minutes later I noticed that the jam on the table had been replenished. Another miss for such a highly rated hotel. The last morning the air-conditioning unit began leaking onto my suitcase (fortunately I had already closed my suitcase). When I looked for the source of the water dripping I noticed some damage on the ceiling around the AC unit making it obvious that this was not the first time it has happened. Go for the view of Porto--it's magnificent, but don't set your expectations on a 5* experience.
