The hotel was good with minor things to be improved on. The staff should try to be more accomodating whenever guests are around so they can ask for help easily. They have no restaurant for guests for lunch or dinner. I have tried the balcony but the table and chairs were dusty. The rest were just okay because they have a gym, a pool and breakfast.

Lovely boutique-style hotel about 20 min walk (5 Min tuk tuk ride) from the central night market area. Walking distance to the victory monument and many temples. The hotel has a wonderful faded Parisienne glamour to it. Interesting building facade. Definitely colonial in style. The rooftop bar and swimming pool are a delight. Would definitely recommend.

The hotel is not easy to find: LOCA app for local taxis does not see this hotel so the passengers must pin the location on the map themselves. The entrance is not really representative - guests have to enter the ”Mister Donut” shop which has predominant sign over the door while the information about the existence of the hotel in this place is just a banner on the pavement.
The room price includes a breakfast but it is served from 8 am which makes it impossible to get for someone who must leave at this time (please note that many hotels serve breakfast from 7 am)
Finally, in the description of the rooms there is no information that the rooms have actually NO hot water which - for some guests - might make significant difference.
The staff speak very little English so any more sophisticated communication (beyond ”Good morning”) must be performed using translator apps.

The most boring hotel you can find. The building is shared with some offices so it's quite crowded with many workers during the day ( who will use the same elevator) but the actual number of guests are low, so it's really quiet at night. The room and lobby are spacious but the facilities are old. Breakfast is meh, if there are not a lot of guests then you only get one or two main dishes

I came here to drink by accident, and found out it was a youth hostel. I decided to move here. It felt great. The lobby was the breakfast area and bar, very nice. The coffee and foreign wine were delicious and not expensive. The waiters only knew Lao and daily English, and a little Mandarin, but simple communication was no problem. I stayed in a mixed room for 6 people. 😄At night, there were 3 women (all foreigners) and I was a man 😂😂. We just couldn't communicate, but we had a good chat. The room facilities were average, and the overall feeling was okay. It had air conditioning, 50 a night, and the washroom and toilet were separated at the stairs. They could The room is changed for each guest, so you can rest assured. You need to take off your shoes to go to the second floor guest room. The most important thing is that this price also includes breakfast. There are three types of breakfast to choose from. The American breakfast is also very good. There is free coffee at the bar in the morning. Although it is instant, the price is very reasonable. There is also a billiard table and a semi-outdoor dining and chatting area in the back, which are all very nice. If you are single, you must experience it. You will meet young people from various countries in the lobby. Be brave and chat with them. My poor English can be used. Another thing is that the socket in the hall does not support the domestic three-pin socket, so remember to bring a converter!

One main issue is that this hotel is not environment friendly.
Rooms are containing aircons but it is barely closed. The hole in the wall which is used to connect indoor and outdoor units is not sealed at all. Windows have a huge gap and unable to be closed tight.
Also there is no sound privacy. It's easy to hear if your neighbors having sex.

The room size is quite small, suitable for a solo traveler or a stay of no more than two nights. The walls are thin, so you can hear people walking and talking outside. The breakfast is tasty but lacks variety.
The location is convenient, as it is close to a shopping mall. However, the elevator service is insufficient for the number of guests. Many Chinese tourists staying at the hotel showed poor etiquette, smoking in non-smoking areas and causing the entire hotel to smell unpleasant. On the other hand, some guests were polite and respectful, adhering to universal manners.
The reception staff provided good service, which was a positive highlight of the stay.

I love the hotel. You can think the hotel look small if you see in entrance, however, when you enter the hotel, inside is very big area roundabout, hotel restaurant and many relaxation decoration with spiral staircase to swimming pool which make me chill a lot. Staff are helpful and familiar. The location is very convenient with the central area. Famous restaurant are just 5min walk and also can see the fountain at the road junction where a few min away. I was happy in my vacation and make me satisfied my solo trip.

The location is very good, close to all the major attractions. There is a d-mart supermarket to the south, where you can pay with WeChat, and a large square night market, which is very lively at night. The front desk can communicate in Chinese and exchange currency. As for the facilities and environment, it cannot be compared with Banna hotels of the same price, but for this location and price in Vientiane, the price-performance ratio is quite high

ゲゲッツーロボVery nice hotel. A small swimming pool, nice room, but above all VERY friendly and nice staff! Never met such a good hotel staff! The people are just so nice and friendly! Only thing to be desired is that there are too many mosquitoes here, I got bit 10 times. Note: it's 40~70 US dollars at the spot so sometimes it's cheaper than online.

GGuest UserI arrived Vientiane by train. There were two buses picking up passengers opposite the front of the station. One was a minibus going to the night market (30k kips) and the other was a public bus going to Vientiane Central Bus Station (25k kips). The minbus going to the night market was full so I took the one going to the Central Bus Station. On checking Google maps, the one going to the night market is the correct transportation to take.
It was close to 9pm when I arrived at the bus station. Note that the reception closes at 10pm. I took a tuk tuk at 50k kips (bargained from 100 kips). The fare was 30k kips when I took a car from the hostel back to the Bus Station to catch Bus 12 to Vientiane (Khamsavath) train station. Do note that this is a different train station from the station I'd arrived from. That station is used by the Laos-China train, while Khamsavath station is used by the Laos-Thai train.
The above described the location of the hostel in relation to the train stations and Central Bus Station.
As for the 3rd floor room (was it 2nd?? well, it was at the highest floor) that I was assigned, there is space enough for 6 beds (3 double deckers). My beddings were spotlessly clean. The aircon worked perfectly. The staff who had checked me in helped with my luggage, which was much appreciated. He pointed out to me the facilities too.
The bathroom cubicles and toilets are on the ground floor. They are clean. The bathroom cubicle i had used were without showergel/soap or shampoo. I did not check the other cubicles.
The common area is behind the reception on the groundfloor. It is air-conditioned and has comfortable seats. There is a water dispenser which dispenses cold water. Again, much appreciated.
In a folder on a desk opposite the reception desk contains information on transportation, fares and public bus schedules. Most useful!
The owner (i assumed he is) had kindly helped me call a car to the central station. He went out in the heat to look out for the car and bode me farewell. It is personal touches like this that warms the heart.
Yes, it is a hostel I would recommend. The 2 attached pictures were information displayed on the walls of the common area which i found useful.

The staff at the Riverside Hotel truly deserve a special mention. Their genuine friendliness and helpfulness were a constant source of warmth during my visit. The family-run atmosphere added a personal touch, making me feel welcome and cared for. I was particularly impressed when they accommodated my early check-in at 8.30am (arriving from Bangkok) without hesitation – a huge relief after a long travel day. Thank you again, Riverside Hotel!
My room on the 6th floor offered a delightful surprise – a balcony with a view of the city. The room itself was clean, neat, and thoughtfully simple, perfectly suited to my needs. A personal highlight was the separate shower area in the bathroom – a detail that promotes hygiene and creates a more comfortable experience.
While the breakfast selection wasn't vast, it was well-maintained and offered a decent variety. The fresh fruits were a particular delight, and I would love to see more vegetarian options added in the future – a minor suggestion for improvement. Housekeeping did a fantastic job, changing towels daily and keeping the room clean and tidy throughout my stay.

GGordonA new hotel with an emphasis on quality of accommodation and service. From arrival, the standard af service was excellent, from security, reception, cleaners, kitchen staff to bar staff.
All were extremely friendly and helpful.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. The shower water pressure was very good, and the hotwater system was excellent with new fillings. Towels were large and luxurious. Pillows and the beds were very comfortable. The air-conditioning system worked extremely well.
Good size smart TV, which you could hook up to Netflix or other serviced if required. The pool was very good and clean, with covered seating available. The gym had all new equipment that worked perfectly. I also loved the pool bar for a chilled drink on a hot day.
Breakfast was varied with a large range to choice from. I enjoyed the fresh cooked eggs, or pancakes cooked to your choosing. Lived being able to get fresh brewed coffee as well. The breakfast staff went out if there way to ensure you enjoyed your food.
Can not fault the stay.

GGuest UserHotel staff and owner are friendly especially the staff even though they have difficulties to communicate they try to make you feel comfortable. Help to carry your luggage upstairs. Location near the Food Market and Night Market. Walking distance 12 minutes to near Talat Mall which sell alot of merchandise worth the visit. Food Market have varieties of food but hardly places to sit and eat. The night market does not have food stall those want to visit make sure fill up the tummy.

NNolliganLocals refer to this hotel as ‘the Chinese hotel’, and it is very Chinese. The reception staff don’t speak English but are fluent in Chinese. Room deposits can be paid in RMB. The Buffett breakfast is excellent, the pool are other facilities are good too. The rooms are clean (see photos). Conveniently located for the airport, local area is okay but not brilliant.

GGuest UserIt’s a great bang for your buck this hotel is! Communication is a breeze, and the free airport pickup and transfer to the railway station are just fantastic perks. I messaged them for a pickup as I landed super early, around 7:30 am, and guess what? The driver was already there waiting for me. Talk about service!
The room was spotless and really cozy—I slept like a baby during my stay. Since the hotel is pretty new, they’re still getting things up and running. For example, the free breakfast ran out quickly because of a big tour group. But no worries, Manager Chan was on it! He quickly whipped up some dumplings for the individual guests like me. How awesome is that?
The front desk staff might struggle a bit with English or Chinese, but they’re super eager to help. Google Translate can be a lifesaver here. The driver, on the other hand, speaks fluent Chinese. He even offered his WeChat, so you can chat with him in Mandarin easily.
One of my favorite spots was the lobby. Manager Chen often makes tea for himself and invites guests to join in. He’s so friendly and generous with his time. I learned so much about Laos and its culture just by chatting with him.
The only downside is that the hotel is a bit out of the city center and since it’s new, Google Maps isn’t quite up to date. This can make it a bit tricky for ride-hailing apps to find the place.
A few little extras like a hair dryer, a city map, and some tour information would be great additions for travelers. But overall, it’s a wonderful place to stay!

MMike USAI was thinking to stay in this hotel only one day, so far is my 3rd day here , love the atmosphere, the location, the staff, big rooms and not expensive, highly recommend

CComer the roamerThe hotel was convenient and easy to find from the airport. The breakfast hours were awesome and the food was tasty! The view from the pool and my balcony were enticing and relaxing. The front desk staff helped to call me taxis to get around the city. The room was spacious and clean. The tv even had English movie channels and a station dedicated to football! I would certainly stay if I came back to Vientiane.
