I have traveled to more than 80 countries and stayed in countless youth hostels. I think this is the weirdest youth hostel I have ever stayed in! none of them! Let me summarize it for you slowly! In fact, it can be seen that this is a new youth hostel that has only been opened for a month. The decoration is very new, and the door and room access control systems show that the boss still wants to make this hotel a good one, but:
1. There is no real photo of them on the Ctrip booking website (see picture 12345789). Although I like the atmosphere of a youth hostel, I don't like staying in a bed room. Because I also snore, I am also afraid of others snoring. So I reserve a single room every time. This time I carefully looked at all the room types in this youth hostel and specifically selected an apartment with one room per person. Note that there is one room per person. Not a bed. But because there are no real photos of this room type, I think it may be because it is a new hotel and I haven’t taken photos yet. I didn't know what to do, so I only booked one day. When I checked in, I was assigned by the front desk to one of the six beds. When I came back in the evening, I met another girl at the front desk. After careful communication, I discovered that the previous front desk clerk had indeed made a mistake for me. Originally I booked a separate room, but I was assigned a bed by mistake! After contacting the boss, I was moved to the correct separate room. But let me tell you the weird things about this small room!
2. The main light switch in this small room, you would never expect it to be in this position. See picture 12. The girl at the front desk and I searched for it for a long time. I actually found it in the corner behind the door. Not to mention that new guests cannot be found. Even if you find it, you still have to get up from the bed and walk to this corner to turn off the light every time you go to bed. Did the circuit designer in this hotel graduate from kindergarten?
3. This room is such a small space, and the air conditioner blows directly on the face (see Figure 16). The weirdest thing is that the remote control of the air conditioner cannot be given to the guests in the room. The girl at the front desk said that there is only one air conditioner remote control in the entire hotel. She said that if I feel cold in the middle of the night and want to turn off the air conditioner, adjust the temperature, or switch to sleep mode... I can only go down to the front desk on the 4th or 3rd floor to get the air conditioner remote control! Her answer left me completely speechless! In my previous travel experience, I once forgot to turn off the air conditioner while sleeping, and blew my mouth crookedly. In the hot city of Vientiane, it is impossible to sleep without turning on the air conditioner. Turning on the air conditioner and blowing it directly on your face can easily make you sick. I am going to be fully equipped tonight, put on my hat, hood, and cover myself with a quilt. I hope you don't blow your mouth crookedly or catch a cold.
4. There is not enough space in the small shower room to put toiletries, change clothes and hang towels (see Figure 4). If you hang a change of clothes on the back of the door, they will all get wet when you take a shower. I photographed this shower room with a super wide-angle lens. In fact, the area inside may not even be one square meter. There is just a small hook to hang all clothes/towels/toiletries. I rushed forward very carefully. There is no way to wash your hair with soap and shampoo. I still accidentally got my clothes wet!
5. The address of this hotel cannot be found on Google Maps, Baidu Maps or even the local indrive online car-hailing software! (See Figure 17) Not only the name of this hotel cannot be found after entering it. The street house number is only the name of a road, and there is no specific house number! Accurate maps can only be found on hotel booking websites. I can only use the online car-hailing software to find an approximate location and book a taxi on the website. At the same time, use the accurate map on the booking website to show the route to the driver. Fortunately I'm smart! Otherwise I literally couldn't find my way back to this hotel.
6. Even if there are no sensor lights in the aisle, there are still so many ridiculously high steps hidden inside. See Figure 15
7. In Figure 13, do you see a step at the corner? The answer lies at a very high level at the orange line in Figure 14. I almost fell down here. Did the boss specially design a trap here? Do you specifically want guests to wrestle here?
8. Weird numbering of beds and rooms: The bed number I was given before was D4, and it didn’t say which floor it was on. It doesn’t say which room the bed is in. There is no number at the door of the room (Picture 6 shows the door of the room). When I came back, I really couldn't remember which room and which bed I was in? The front desk had to personally take me upstairs to find it. Of course the staff knew this number very well, but as a guest, I was just confused. What’s even weirder is that the small independent room I was later given had no number on the door! Moreover, the access card does not reflect the room number on which floor it is. There is an ID 23 on the access card inexplicably and I don’t know what it means (see Figure 10)? The door key to my small room didn't have any tag showing which room it belonged to? I don’t know how the hotel resources are sorted out, which key belongs to which room? I admire them for their superpowers!
9. From the time I checked in until I left the next day, I seemed to be the only guest in the entire hotel. Is it the peak travel season now? Am I the only one who fell for this? The hotel booking platform gave him a five-point rating? See Figure 11. Is Ctrip trying to destroy its reputation? Is the person in charge of Ctrip in Vientiane, Laos, the hotel owner’s brother-in-law? I literally couldn't stop laughing. This hotel is the biggest pitfall I have ever encountered in my life, bar none!

Calm place, but reseption opens late
Diffucult getting the key deposit back due to nobody being in the reseption in the morning. Other than that it was a nice c7be place close to the city sentrum. Not the largest of common areas

This was a great hostel. The beds were comfortable and there was a good amount of privacy. The staff, and in particular, Aot and Joy went out of their way to make sure my experience was perfect. I met some other friendly solo backpackers here. I will certainly be back.

My friend and I are 19 and 20 years old, backpacking. Our first impression was quite good, the beds are fine, everything was clean enough. In the middle of the night, however, my friend was woken up by another backpacker (an adult man) urinating on her bed, including her things and herself. This is of course not the hostel’s fault - but their reaction, or rather lack thereof was appalling. There was no one in the reception (which their website promises!), so I called them on the phone, and was promised that security was on its way. We had to wait almost an hour for the so-called 24-hour reception and security - with the man who pissed on my friend! The man thankfully was not aggressive, but it was a truly uncomfortable experience, that could have ended much worse. Once the security man finally arrived, he was quite unhelpful, and the floor and bed wasn’t even attempted to be cleaned. She was assigned another bed at last - but we had to take all matters into our own hands. The man eventually left, but still had the keycard to come back - it felt very unsafe, and our concern was not taken seriously, we were only told to call if he came back. This morning, we asked to speak to the management, but they never showed up. We eventually got to speak to him on the phone, and after a while got a refund, and for my friend’s clothes to be cleaned. Terrible service and management!
