The hotel has a cozy vibe and only 20 rooms. It offers a butler-style concierge service, but be aware that things move at a slower pace, which I guess is just part of the African experience. The views of the Zambezi National Park from the communal lounge were unreal, especially at sunset. We booked a suite at the Safari Club, which featured a small lounge area with a couch and chairs. However, the room’s layout didn’t fully meet expectations. The lounge area was rather dark, with limited natural light due to its positioning and a small window. This made the space less inviting to use, and we found ourselves spending more time on the bed or at the desk where the lighting was better. The furniture felt somewhat dated, which detracted from the otherwise luxurious experience. The open-plan bathroom was spacious, with a rainfall shower, a freestanding bathtub, and a single basin. Despite the ample space, the suite lacked a view of the large watering hole, which is one of the property’s main attractions. The room does overlook a small watering hole that seems to attract birds, but none of the big animals that we saw visit the watering hole directly in front of Victoria Fall Safari Lodge, which is situated on the same property. Additionally, the proximity to the family rooms and the nearby Drum Restaurant meant occasional noise, which could be bothersome if you’re seeking complete tranquillity or a romantic weekend without children. The Safari Club is worth considering, particularly if you’re seeking luxury and a close connection to nature. However, if uninterrupted peace and the best views are a priority, you might want to explore the rooms at the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, which overlook the watering hole where you would be able to see buffalo, elephant, buck etc from your room and are further from the Drum Restaurant. Tip for the hotel owners or management - Despite the hotel having all my passport information, including my date of birth, no staff member acknowledged that I celebrated my birthday while staying with them. It would have been an extremely nice gesture that showed they truly offered a personalised experience, and it would have taken seconds to do.
