Perfect for a small getaway

This hotel is far past it's prime. It is run down, with too few staff to keep the grounds and property clean (both outside and in), too few maintenance personnel to keep the elevators operational (one of two elevators was out of service for 3 straight days), insufficient ventilation to clear the air of the huge quantity of cheap cigarrillo smoke, and insufficient pest control to eliminate the various bug problems. Our room was vacuumed and the sheets/blanket/towels were clean, but the room was too dark: three single bulb lights with a fourth at the coffee pot in the room's closet hall, and no lamp at the desk. I had to move the light from the hall to the desk to work. The refrigerator worked, as did the A/C, but the A/C struggled to keep up during the day... On a positive note, the front office staff, housekeeping and guards were always pleasant, as were most of the cafe' staff. Additionally, my vehicle was NOT burglarized (albeit I slept poorly every night thinking I would awake to broken glass around my vehicle... and new, unwanted ventilation)...

Older property carpeting needs to be replaced because the filthy stains and smells of smoke. Staff was excellent!

The amenities were in great condition. For Handicap bathrooms it would have been better to have a glass enclosure or other type of enclosure to keep the water in the shower instead of all over the bathroom floor.

Room was clean. Bed and pillows comfortable. Big room. Hot shower. A few of the plugs and lights did not work. It is an older building but still very clean. Grill had very good food. All staff was very friendly. We would definitely stay again!

I was only there for 8 hours for a business trip. When I woke up I learned that a co-workers car had been stolen from the parking lot.

This place is nothing like the website. The non-smoking room was completely smoky. Only one elevator, and the only thing slower than it was the waitress service in the restaurant. Had the steak special. Sent it back, the first time in years that I’ve done that. They brought out the brussels sprouts that went with it. Then they brought another steak, which was OK. At the end of the meal, I got the sour cream and fixings for the baked potato. Horrible. The room was pretty rundown. It talks about a Riverwalk along the Mississippi river, but that’s where they park the garbage barges. They don’t bother to hose off the goose droppings from their patio or Riverwalk. No one should even consider staying here.

The food was not very good and it was very hot to distinguish between smoking and non-smoking areas. The staff did not appear to be well worst with procedures

The room was nice, bed was very comfortable. Didn’t seem to have hot water in the shower. People were very nice and helpful.
