Courtyard Vicksburg

The Courtyard by Marriott is a great place for an overnight stop in Vicksburg. We asked for and received a quiet room on the back side of the property. The first room we were assigned to was an odd number, which faced I-20. We could hear a lot of road noise, so we went back down to the front desk to ask for an even number room, and Gabrielle immediately granted our request. Our room was very clean. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. We slept really well! All of the employees we encountered were kind and friendly, especially Rodney at the front desk, who introduced us to Patty Jobe, the GM, who was warm and pleasant. Tracy Williams, the Bistro Manager, was very kind and helpful, too! The food and beverages at the Bistro were good; the breakfast bowls were huge and tasty. The only disappointing feature was the fitness center, which according to Rodney will be undergoing renovations beginning Nov 1. The treadmills were both inoperative. The elliptical worked but has seen better days. My husband enjoyed using the pool and hot tub. Both were clean. Plenty of towels were available. We had a great stay and hope to return soon!

No bottled water or tea facilities provided in the room . The staff at reception and at the Starbucks in the hotel seem clueless The room seems fine other than the basic hospitality one would expect at an establishment such as this . Stayed for 11 nights and only had the room serviced once and that was because we asked...still using COVID as an excuse. We had to empty our trash, get toilet paper, etc. I travel 40+ nights a year and stay mainly at Marriotts..never experienced anything like this.

I was last here about 14 years ago. Of course, the facility has aged a bit since then. But the properties surrounding it have not fared as well. Still, it was easily accessible and the staff was efficient.

Great A/C in our room !!! That’s always a plus in mid July in MS. Easy check in. Light bulb in bathroom over sink needs replaced…..constant flashing but other than that it was great!!

Breakfast was for purchase only. Coffee machine in the room had no supplies but wee provided after a trip to the front desk. No one answered the phone necessitating a trip. Room smelled musty upon arrival but cleared with the ac. Overall disappointment for a mid range motel. I’ve had better at the economy level.
