Nice location ! this vintage hotel does have style . The decoration does remind you the good old bygone days. The room is on the small side but if you happen to have a Seaview room, the view is quite impressive. The breakfast buffet is quite spectacular with many varieties. I enjoy my stay.

The hotel has been operating since 1907 and they try as much as possible to preserve the history of this place, while being there, you really feel like you are in the past, the spirit of culture and aristocracy.
The staff is friendly and very responsive.
Breakfast is quite plentiful for European hotels.
But when choosing a hotel, keep in mind that it is really very old. And everything in the hotel supports this style, interior, furniture. We were pleased with our two-night stay, but for a longer stay we would have preferred a more modern hotel

Splendid hotel, ancient structure overlooking the Viareggio promenade. Rooms that respect the style of the building with the comfort of modernity.
Impeccable service and courteous staff available to satisfy every customer request. Stellar breakfasts, rich and for every taste and need. managed to maintain my diet without having to ask for particular instructions. Everything was available. Swimming pool surrounded by the greenery of the hotel park, with lifeguard available and bar for light lunches to be consumed directly on site. Impeccably kept park full of flowers and plants.
I finally made my childhood dream of staying in this amazing hotel come true and the reality far surpassed the fantasy. Thank you for these two wonderful days.

A classic elegant hotel which is exceptionally well run. As 4 generations of my family have now came on holiday/honeymoon to the Grand Hotel Royal it shows how much we love the hotel. The staff/ management are wonderful, from the front desk who are polite and helpful to the ladies who clean the rooms which were spotless to the porters who helped with our luggage. I must give a special mention to the dining room team which is expertly run by maître Emanuele and assisted by Allesandro, the food this year was delicious, from breakfast ( enough options to suit everyone, hot/cold, sweet and savoury) to dinner ( such a varied and well structured menu, antipasti, first and second course then sweet). Along with the wonderful pool where you can also get drinks/snacks the hotel has an arrangement for guests to use the Anita beach which is just across the main road from the hotel. This is a lovely typical viareggio beach which is friendly and clean also there's a well run beach bar for drinks and food. We've already booked for next year so " ci vediamo l'anno prosimmo " 🇮🇹 😊

An excellently managed hotel is reflected in the professional, friendly staff. Lovely Tuscan cuisine, very clean comfortable rooms, an outdoor swimming pool surrounded by beautiful well manicured gardens all add up to a superb destination. We have visited now for over 15 years, and see many familiar regular returnees, which support this view. We can't wait to return next year. Eric and Trish Thompson
