The breakfast is very rich and cost-effective. It is only a 5-minute drive from the Cherries picking garden and opposite is the Superstore. It is a good choice for family outings!

I’m writing to share an experience I recently had at the Fairfield Hotel in Vernon—an experience I sincerely hope others can avoid. I booked my stay well in advance, in April, using the government rate as advertised. Upon arrival at the end of May, I was pleasantly surprised to be informed at check-in that the government rate I had secured was no longer valid due to it being a weekend. Naturally, I understand policies exist for a reason, but one might think such a policy would be communicated before arrival—when one could still make alternate arrangements, perhaps at a hotel that values clarity and guest consideration. Instead, I was met with indifference by the front desk staff, particularly Rose, who did little to embody the hospitality industry’s standard of service. After discovering the air conditioning in our room wasn’t working—a minor inconvenience during warmer months—we were told we needed to change rooms. Rather than simply issuing a new key and deactivating the old one (as most hotels are equipped to do), we were required to pack up everything, haul it down to the lobby on a trolley, and exchange keys there. Efficiency and accommodation were clearly not priorities. I also corresponded with Ashley, the General Manager, regarding the nightly rate discrepancy. Her response, while prompt, was disappointingly rigid. I was told, flatly, that nothing could be done about the rate, despite it being a substantial increase from what I had booked. For a company under the Marriott umbrella, I had naively expected at least a token gesture to acknowledge the inconvenience—something, anything, to show the guest matters. Alas. To add to the charm: the complimentary breakfast was far from edible—cold, rubbery eggs and still-frozen hashbrowns don’t exactly kickstart the day. The shower pressure also left much to be desired, unless you're fond of trickles. I have already initiated a claim with Marriott's head office, and while I’m not expecting miracles, I do hope it results in at least some accountability. In the meantime, I would strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to explore other options unless you're a fan of uncommunicated rate changes, apathetic staff, and subpar amenities.

Stayed here 1 night for business trip. I got a room and when I lifted up covers notice hair and yellow stains on bedsheets. They are not cleaning the sheets and that is plain disgusting. Got transferred to another room and exact same issue, third room same issue. I even took the receptionist with me to enter the room and check bed first so they saw first hand. Been travelling for 20 years for business and never experienced anything like this. GROSS. They didn’t even offer and kind of compensation or have any manager etc available. I love Marriott’s but this one is disappointing.
