Comfort Inn & Suites Vernal - National Monument Area

Absolutely the worst Customer Service I’ve ever had in my life. Tried to move a table and it completely disintegrated. Both ends separated as if only held together by the gravity of the top flat piece. The top landed on my leg and caused a bruise. When the manager, Ty was asked to come to the room to assess the situation, he blamed us for breaking it. I asked for an unbroken table from an empty room, knowing they are not booked. He refused. I asked to move to a room that has an unbroken room. And he refused to do that too. He even threatened to charge is for breaking the table. His demeanor and lack of any empathy or understanding was startling given that he is in the service industry. I will never stay here again. If I had zero stars or negative stars, I would leave them.

Reasonable price and good amenities. The lobby, room, and pool area were all reasonably clean. There were a few minor flaws such as chipped paint and dusty window sills. The person at front desk seemed indifferent as we checked in, and even somewhat annoyed when we reported that our TV remote was not working. We were given a different remote that did work. The linins and towels were all fresh and clean. The breakfast was top notch, complete with waffles, fruit, muffins, eggs, sausage, yogurt, and more. With some training for the staff, this could easily be rated 5, but I give it a 4.

This place is run down and it is obvious they have not done any remodeling in a long time. The front receptionist was not very friendly and I was scheduled to stay a 2nd night but I canceled due to this place not being up to par. For a Comfort Suites this is BAD.

Went with the Tripadvisor recommendation for this property.. Pretty much as advertised. A little older property, but this were clean and neat. Front desk staff met us with a smile and were very helpful. Room was excellent, no complaints at all with the upkeep and overall cleanliness.

Front desk personnel were not very friendly and often absent. The lobby coffee was very bad. The breakfast did not look appetizing and we ended up eating out every morning. The pool and spa did not look clean, so we opted not to use it despite that being one of the reasons we booked there. Though my room was clean, when I left a note asking housekeeping to leave additional regular coffee packs they did not. When I asked the front desk, they said the housekeepers do not read English. I am a Choice privileges member and should have received a weeknight bonus on 3 nights of my stay. Before I checked in, I asked if the Starbucks card was an option and the girl did not know what I was talking about. I changed it to airline mileage before I checked in on my app, but I have not received the mileage bonus. The girl who checked us in also read my room number out loud despite the line behind me which is a serious security issue. Overall it was a lackluster experience and when we return to Vernal we will be staying at a different hotel.

We had a poor experience at the Vernal Comfort Inn, in the midst of a western road trip. On entry the room smelled of smoke. Also, the smoke detector had been disabled. Wanting to avoid a damage charge we alerted the desk, but didn't ask for another room. To our surprise, the hotel didn't offer to reconnect our detector. Showering after a long day's drive, we were alarmed by another party trying to enter our room. The front desk had keyed them to our room. Fortunately the confusing key reader slowed them enough for us to interrupt them. Other reviewers noted the poor quality of the continental breakfast, and we concur. Limited choices, short supplies, tough sausage, runny eggs. The coffee ran out. Back to our room to brew our own, found a used coffee pod in the coffee maker. The room had one USB charger. It did not work. The front desk was usually unstaffed. The hotel has alarmed the exit at the end of the hall, making the front entry the only practical way to enter. There was no way to park to make hauling bags more convenient. We should have been warned when pulling in to observe another lodger changing their motor oil, draining directly onto the parking lot. We had years worth of mishaps during this one stay. However, we slept well, allowing us to keep our humor up. When the toaster shot an English muffin out and onto the floor we could only laugh. The internet worked well.

It was just ok. Check in was very slow, but the manager was pleasant. Fairly clean. Everything looks worn out. Really awful couch, bed was ok. Bring your own pillows. Breakfast was ok. I heard several people complain about the size of the bowls for cereal. Very tiny

Save your money and stay in town elsewhere. The best part of our stay was the young lady at check in, she deserves to work in a better environment! The entire place has an odor, most likely due to the dingy carpet everywhere. The bedding seemed clean, but odor remained strong in the room. We discovered the window wide open, which assuming it’s a part of their turn down. Shower area moldy and falling apart, faucet has to be on full speed or the handle drops back down and shuts off, barely any type of lighting available which made reading and map reviewing very difficult, complimentary lotion was completely empty, fridge didn’t work at all, breakfast bread items (bagels, muffins, etc) were all old and very hard, Lobby refreshments never replaced.

Have stayed here several times over the years and it has had its issues. The last two stays, all was well. The room was clean, comfortable bed and pillows. Easy check in and was given a complimentary bottle of water and a bag of chips. Iced water, with or without lemon, available in the lobby.
