What a horrible little hotel! The tiniest of rooms with little or no amenities, and towels that have seen better days. The beds are uncomfortable, as are the bedclothes. The entire building is in dire need of a major cash injection to repair the faults and bring it into the 21st century. I cannot comment on the quality of food on the premises because my wife and I ate elsewhere. We didn't feel like throwing any more money at this joint than what we'd already overpaid for the shoebox of a room.

In March 2025 I led a group of 20 former work colleagues to visit WW1 sites in Verdun. We stayed for two nights at Hotel Les Orchidees. The rooms were comfortable and clean, although my room did not have a plug in the bathroom sink - not the end of the world. The staff were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Although selecting an identical menu for the whole group for evening dinner was a bit of a pain, I fully understand the challenges that a group of 20, all at once, can cause to a restaurant. The food was excellent and although the restaurant was open at lunch time, my group only wanted a light lunch which was no problem for the staff. I would use this hotel again.

I stayed at this hotel for three nights with my wife and wasn’t disappointed. I had stayed here twice before, a few years ago and it is still of a high standard. The staff were all helpful and engaging, our room was adequate for a short stay, the only thing l would like to see changed would be the provision of a kettle in the room to make coffee or tea with but not a game changer. Breakfast was adequate and a reasonable choice of food to choose from, there are no hot dishes to be had unless you include hard boiled eggs. The restaurant is worth a special mention as it has a good selection of dishes and wines to suit everyone, the prices are also very competitive. Service was prompt throughout our meals and we opted to eat here for the three nights we stayed. There was no need to pre book a table. Don’t be put off by the location which is close by an industrial estate, the location is quiet but really convenient for either going into Verdun or visiting the many WW1 battlefields and forts. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We stayed on a Sunday night May en route back from Germany. Chose this place due to the restaurant being open on a Sunday. Well tucked away on the outskirts of town in a residential/commercial area - at least that’s the way the GPS took us in. Decent sized free car park. Friendly, efficient enough check in. Clearly the rooms have been refurbished to a high standard, being modern, clean and comfortable - but are barely adequate in size for even one person, let alone two. Bathroom clean and well equipped, but as per the bedroom, tiny. Functional enough to arrive at 2000, eat and crash into bed for an early start! The restaurant produced a really good standard of dinner at a reasonable price. Plenty of ‘locals’ dining there. Coach parties visiting Verdun stop over here. We didn’t eat breakfast due to an early start. Would only stay again due to the restaurant being open on a Sunday.

Easy to find hotel on the outskirts of Verdun. It is close to a main road but tucked away on behind an industrial estate. The rooms are large, well appointed and comfortable. There is very comfortable furniture in the garden to enjoy the evening sun. The pool was not operational when we stayed. The food is very old and well priced.

This hotel is well located for the battlefields but not for Verdun itself. We stayed three nights as we were touring the area. Our room was rather disappointing, small with a blind on the inside rather than outside. It clearly could do with shutters. I mentioned that the loo needed to be fixed but nothing happened and again when we left. The loo holder was broken, so not great to stick stick behind a tap or having it behind your back. I had also to ask for a loo roll as hardly any had been left in the room. We ate only one night as food was not great. There are much better restaurants in Verdun or even nearby such as chez Mamie. Breakfast was buffet style, complete with television and news reports.

Lovely little hotel/restaurant. We picked this for where it was, as doing a tour of the area, but we always choose Logis due to the quality of their restaurants saving us from having to find a place to eat in the evening and able to drink without driving.

Great secure parking. Small nice pool with seating outside. We had a nice twin bed room on ground floor. Good shower etc. OK dinner. Excellent breakfast. Perhaps dining room and outside could have done with a good sweep and our room was a bit dusty in the 'hidden' areas but not a problem for us. Really nice front of house staff, very friendly.
