Our family's first trip to Guilin, and we stayed at the Venus Royal Hotel (Elephant Trunk Hill & Sun and Moon Pagodas branch), which we found to offer excellent value for money! The hotel boasts a prime downtown location, within walking distance of all major popular landmarks, making it super convenient for exploring and dining. The rooms feature balconies that offer picturesque views of the Li River and the city's night skyline. The river-view restaurant on the sixth floor provides an exceptional experience, allowing guests to enjoy breakfast and afternoon tea with stunning views of Elephant Trunk Hill and the Sun and Moon Pagodas. Both the location and the views are impeccable, making it a highly recommended hotel for anyone visiting Guilin!

The room was spacious, clean, and tidy. I particularly liked that the wash basin area and the toilet/shower room were completely separate, which was very convenient for our family, preventing any crowding when we all needed to get ready. The service was very thoughtful. They even offered a complimentary serving of delicious 'tianluoniang' (stuffed snails) and afternoon tea. Unfortunately, we missed the afternoon tea as we were out exploring Reed Flute Cave with the kids. The tea restaurant offered lovely views, and it was also a great spot for the kids to do their homework.

The hotel is just a few minutes' walk from the park. Compared to hotels right by the park, while it doesn't offer river views, it's wonderfully quiet, which made for a much more restful sleep. However, the 'river view room' was a bit misleading as it didn't offer a beautiful river view at all. We could only see the trees on the roadside below and some distant hills. I suggest renaming this room type to avoid misleading guests.

That 'tianluoniang' was incredibly delicious; five of us finished two portions and it still wasn't enough, so we had to order another one! The hotel also provided the children with some small candies and a map, which was a really thoughtful and heartwarming gesture! Thank you!

The front desk lady is very enthusiastic, the staff is also very polite, the room is very quiet, the weather is good, and the scenery outside the window is very nice ~ It was a very pleasant hotel stay experience ~

WiFi speed is acceptable (17Mbps, WiFi 5), can connect VP to open YouT (except SShark VP). TV has 2 hdmi, however, no chance to open YouT on TV (unless you bring hdmi connector). Breakfast is good. Extra meals on Tea time, and after 10. Free swimming pool (need swimming cap or RMB18). 1.2m-1.8m pool. No any children playroom, but 10 mins taxi to children park. Close to grand Shopping mall. And close to night streets. Hotel Rooms are also silent without air flight noise.
MTR is faster and cheaper than taxi to Lian Tong. Checkpoint. Overall is good price to value.

First of all, I would like to praise the young lady at the front desk, she is really good-looking and nice, the service is warm and thoughtful, the hotel equipment is very good, the environment is clean and tidy, very good, the room is large and comfortable, and there is free parking, the hotel also There is a laundry room. Next time you come to Shenzhen, you don’t need to bring a change of clothes. You can wash them at the hotel and change them the next day. It’s really not too convenient. I didn’t expect that there is a gym, which is really amazing! !

I have stayed here before and it was wonderful. I wanted to say the same again, but I just can't. The rooms were great. We had two 4-person rooms. However, since my last stay, the smell of smoke seems to be quite strong. Despite paying for 4 people in a room , we only received two towels / 2 bottles of water per room each day. 
Every time we approached the reception staff, ALL staff would make it obvious that they felt uncomfortable serving us because we spoke English. They would look at each other and then try to get the other staff member to serve us. I understand there is a language barrier, and it is difficult. However, a smile would go a long way to making people feel welcome,  Once the reception staff got over their initial hesitation, they  were helpful and kind. However, when you have to deal with people being hesitant to help you 2- 3 times a day, it makes you not want to be there. Some staff appear to have not been in the actual hotel rooms, so when you talk to them about some stuff, they appear to not know what you are talking about. On my last night there, I walked through the lobby next to reception. A man was vomiting in reception, his girlfriend holding a rubbish bin. It was gross. I was surprised the staff didn't do anything to help them or move them to a bathroom. The smell was strong. I walked through an hour later and the couple were gone but the bin and vomit sat in in the middle of everyone's walking path, and there didn't seem to be a hurry to clean it up. I really wanted to love this hotel again, but I just didn't. Breakfast was okay. I just feel they should have some sort of warmer for some foods because it goes cold quickly.

Very quiet, the room is very comfortable, and the shower is also very comfortable. The key is that the breakfast is very rich, with many foods suitable for children, great fruit and vegetable salads, and various breakfast packages. There are restaurants and convenience stores next to it, which is very convenient. Next time I go to Foshan, I will choose this place again
