Clocktower Inn Ventura

This was our second stay at The Clocktower Inn. The Clock Tower Inn is quaint and charming with a great staff who are always willing to answer any questions. There's a Mexican restaurant right next door and the hotel is centrally located within walking distance of the beach, the downtown area, the street fair and tasting rooms. Our stay included breakfast which we found to be ample. The lobby is very homey with the fireplace and comfortable seating. We love the balcony rooms with fireplace. The rooms have a refrigerator, microwave and a coffee maker which is very handy. We will definitely be staying again.

The Clocktower Inn is a hacienda style hotel. Formerly a fire department it was converted in the early 1960s. The rooms are basic but pleasant. We got a second floor room (217) to gain additional day light (versus the first floor) and also were delighted to have a balcony (not all 2nd floor rooms have balconies) where we could plant our two bikes. The room was clean and had basic TV, WIFI, a mini fridge, microwave and a coffee maker. The coffee maker and microwave were great for us, because as early risers we want an early cup of coffee before heading down to the 7am continental breakfast in the court yard. The continental breakfast is simple but 'enough'. Cereal, make-it-yourself waffles, yogurt, and fruit (bananas and apples). The dining courtyard is also nice to enjoy during the day. The place could use some updating like more outlets and streaming services, but for the price it is a good deal. Public parking available in the adjoining parking lot (secure a parking tag) but could be problematic if it is a busy weekend. The Blue Agave restaurant next door is quite good. A good happy hour. Good margaritas and EXCELLENT guacamole. Fajitas and homemade salsas are very good too.

The customer service is outstanding at the Clocktower Inn! My wife and I were planning to stay here for the Mountains to Beach marathon in April but I was unable to make it to Ventura, CA, to run due to an injury. They assisted in resolving a tricky reservation issue. The hotel looks stunning and I really hope to stay here one day once I am back in my feet and able to run Mountains to Beach!!!

The Clocktower Inn is a great little place. We love the rooms with the fireplace and there is air conditioning! Richard from maintenance was a great help. He deserves a raise! Thank you! I will say that parking is a bit difficult and the breakfast was not not exciting.
