This place is of a such authenticity. So much soul, so beautiful and friendly. The place is very clean and the hosts are very welcoming. I am so happy I just found it by chance. We will come back for sure. The village is stunning. I am sad we had to leave soo soon.

Prima hotel, prachtig gelegen in het stadje Velburg. De kamer was prima in orde en dat geldt ook voor het eten. Was met een grote groep (ca 40 personen), maar het eten werd vlot geserveerd en smaakte bovendien prima. Het was wat nostalgisch ingericht, maar dat paste prima

Wir haben fast zwei Monate in einer Suite des Hotels gewohnt und haben uns wahnsinnig wohl gefühlt! Alle sind immer freundlich und hilfsbereit. Es ist sauber und sehr gepflegt. Man merkt das der Betrieb sehr familiär geführt ist und, dass die Angestellten gut behandelt werden. Velburg liegt außerdem wunderschön!! Vom Hotel aus kann man auf die Burg, Tropfsteinhöhlen erkunden und stundenlang in schönster Natur wandern gehen. Zudem sind alle hundefreundlich! Wir werden Ludwig vermissen! Deshalb auch wämrste Empfehlung an Hundebesitzer! Wird ein toller Ausgangspunkt für den nächsten Spaziergang.

We hadden een goede ruime kamer op de t****e verdieping van de dependance. Het was er ook schoon. Het hotel is door de vele trappen niet erg handig voor mensen die minder valide zijn. Het ontbijt was goed. Het avondeten was wel wat karig.

Indien u kleine kinderen heeft, kan u beter met een grote boog om dit hotel heenlopen. Onze peuter was een beetje luidruchtig (zoals elke peuter is) tijdens het ontbijt, en een bitse serveerser kwam ons streng toespreken dat hij stil moest zijn. Om 8 uur 's ochtends. In een zaal waar niemand zat. We hebben het ontbijt maar gelaten voor het was en zijn vertrokken. Het hotel is verder prima, maar kan beter een groot bord voor de deur zetten met kinderen niet gewenst.

Das ganze Haus vermittelt einen totalsanierten Eindruck. Ich kann nur für #202 sprechen : schlicht-modern eingerichtet, neues Duschbad mit Hängeklo, angenehme Größe und somit sehr gutes PLV. Der Biergarten ist angenehm, die Damen der Bedienung freundlich. Es gibt auch ein Ferienhäuserl zu mieten, gleich nebem Biergarten.

After having booked because of the reviews... Possibly the worst hotel stay I’ve ever experienced in Germany. The ONLY REASON the Hotel zur Post is in business is that they are ESSENTIALLY a US Army hotel. If you are not a local or US Military, the attitude of the management is they could care less whether you are satisfied or whether you come back. To say the rooms are “dated” is a an understatement. Our €135 a night room was last renovated in the 1960‘s and had the look and feel of an army barracks. Breakfast was so mediocre we just skipped it two of three days. AND now the WiFi: Apparently in some rooms it simply doesn’t work, such as our room! We were told that our room (and others) didn’t get a signal. I pointed out that we booked the hotel because they had WiFi and and get this...I was told „the hotel has WiFi just not your room.“ I asked about another room that had WiFi and was told they were full and we wouldn’t be accommodated. All in all a very forgettable experience, poor value, and a could careless management. I cannot believe this place gets the ratings it does . I cannot recommend this hotel at half the price we paid.
