Casa Bonhomía

We spent a few days here with our group of old fraternity buddies, rented a car and drove up from Sevilla (at 1,5 hours). Usually we play golf in fancy places, but this time we chose to stay with Bernadette and Alexander in their beautifully restored hostal, which -in fact- is actually more of a boutique hotel than anything else. Casa Bonhomía is perfectly located in the old centre of Vejer, a historic location,where still you can enjoy the peace and quiet of an old city mansion belonging to a noble Spanish family. Vejer combines its Moorish and Spanish 1000-year+ history with an array of good bars and restaurants and -thankfully- without the mass tourism that many Spanish venues suffer from. Day trips to Jerez, Cadiz and the many beaches make this a perfect get-away for a week or so. B&A are perfect hosts : they are there when you need them, but take a backseat when you just want to do your own thing. The Casa and its rooms are luxurious and stylish and the rooftop terrace is a gem. Worth a detour!
