The Manor Castle Hotel is particularly beautiful. I thought it was on the edge of the A10 when I made the reservation. In fact, I had to drive a long way off the highway in the evening. The manor is large and beautiful. Although it did not catch up with the blue sky and white clouds, in the rain, the air after the rain filled the air. The fragrance of flowers and plants, coupled with the solemn castle, elegant cabins, and the Loire Valley in the distance, form a beautiful picture. Tip, if you want to stay in the main building, be sure to indicate your needs when booking! But there is a risk of carrying a suitcase up three or four floors.

The castle is smaller than expectation. The swimming pool is closed and there is not so many to see and walk around. There is only one towel for 2 persons? 🤔🤔

This hotel dazzles its guests with a commanding viewpoint over the grounds, pool and valley beneath. The chateau has been tastefully restored with simple rooms offering grand views and a small bar area perfect for sipping Aperol spritz. Ours was a spacious two room tower suite with the benefit of aircon. The staff were consistently friendly, helping us with bike storage, pool towels and a generous buffet breakfast. We dined on the terrace in the evening and at breakfast. The setting itself was perfect. The evening menu was perhaps a little too pricey and exquisite for our needs but didn’t detract from an overall great stay. Highly recommend.

We loved our 2 nights at this hotel and wish that we had stayed for longer. Our room was lovely, quiet and clean. I always feel a sense of concern when arriving at a new hotel but this hotel is genuinely great. The restaurant was beautifully run and the food was really good. In good weather you sit on the terrace under umbrellas looking down on to the pool and out towards the distance The staff are all friendly and helpful . What more can you ask for ?

This is our second visit. We stayed here in 2021 - absolutely wonderful and faultless. Beautiful location; very well run by the Oliverau family who were hands on. However, we didn’t know they sold the Chateau in 2023. They sold for circa € 10m - a price reflecting the quality of the place. Although Madame Oliverau manages the hotel for the new owners - a leveraged hotel group who need a high return to make their investment pay this has damaged the whole ambience and experience. This trip has been - not pleasant sadly and although the place is beautiful I would be careful about coming here. We arrived and were told we could not have dinner - there is nothing on the website or our direct telephone booking about reserving for dinner. We were also told dinner was blocked for our last of 3 nights and could not eat there. On our first night we had a ‘snack’ on the terrace as the only option - it took 50 minutes to get the food. Today the terrace by the restaurant is full of a conference booking or similar - loud chatter ruining the peace - the delightful pool is tellingly empty because of the loud noise. We have argued and stood our ground about dinner on our last night. You are made to feel that making money from non guests is the priority and we take second place. Very sad. Staff are very polite. We are told the low staff numbers are because they cannot recruit for countryside areas. Not my fault!

This estate and grounds are well worth the distance from Tours where we picked up a rental car. The grounds are immaculate, with gigantic ancient trees, (great tree swing) and extensive so be sure to explore. The views from the back of the estate where the restaurant is located are so peaceful. If you like to swim or lounge by the pool and it is warmer than when we were there in May you will love this hotel even more. We dined in the restaurant the first night and were not disappointed. Our 2 favorite Chateau’s were an easy drive from the hotel. (Château d'Azay-le-Rideau and Château de Villandry) Our room was enormous and the bathroom the largest and most modern of any other top rated hotel we stayed in. The buffet Breakfast was plentiful and service excellent.
