Yvette Hotel Porte de Versailles, Sonder

Disappointed by My Stay at Yvette Porte de Versailles – Poor Communication and No Follow-Up I was unfortunately let down by my stay at Yvette Porte de Versailles on July 5th. First, during the night around 2:30 a.m., the fire alarm went off not once but twice, waking up guests and causing unnecessary stress—especially since there was no clear explanation provided afterward. Even more frustrating, I accidentally left my Apple charger in the room and have tried to retrieve it. Despite making four separate calls, I haven’t received any follow-up. It’s nearly impossible to speak directly with someone at the hotel, and this lack of customer service is unacceptable. I expect better communication and responsiveness, especially from an establishment that promotes itself as focused on guest experience.

The location is fine, very quiet and peaceful, although there isn’t much nearby. We stayed the night PSG won the UEFA Champions League and managed to sleep through the celebrations, so noise definitely wasn’t an issue. The front desk staff were polite, if a little formal. However, the main issue was the poor handling of check-in. We had informed them of our arrival time—4pm—but when we arrived, our room wasn’t ready. We were left waiting around while it was cleaned. We were told a cleaner was off sick, but there were quite a few people waiting for rooms over both days, which suggested a wider issue with organisation. It was surprising that they didn’t have a backup plan, whether that be extra staff, reassigned duties, or temporary help. As we were only staying for two days, waiting around really ate into our holiday time. What made it worse was that, once we were finally allowed to check in (an hour late), we saw the cleaner chatting idly in one of the rooms while others were still waiting. It gave the impression that getting rooms ready simply wasn’t a priority. A quiet stay overall, but the lack of coordination really took away from the experience.

This hotel is slightly out of Paris centre and allows you to discover day to day Parisian life. The hotel is tucked away in suburban street but close walking distance to shops, train station and a safe area. The customer service from all reception staff I met with was excellent and a highlight of my stay. They went above and beyond any request or need. The room is a very good size, immaculate - very clean with comfortable pillows and bed and complimentary tea/coffee. I would stay again and highly recommend.
