This is a really relaxing place to stay near downtown on a quiet side street. You can easily walk to restaurants, shops, bakery, ice cream, coffee, the waterfront, the farmers' market, and public transit. Breakfast was exceptional and catered to your dietary requests. Room was immaculate.

Sallie and Ted were wonderful hosts - graciously sharing their beautiful home. The room (and house) was very comfortable and clean. The bed was very comfortable. Ted’s breakfast was fantastic! Highly recommend this Inn to anyone who appreciates older homes and is looking for somewhere to stay that is not a traditional hotel. If we return to Vancouver, we would stay here again.

Stepping back in time at Briar Rose Inn was such a treat. Top notch stay. Room was cozy, bed was comfy and the breakfasts were delicious. I had withdrawal when I got home. Get this, the breakfasts were candlelit! I had never had a candlelit breakfast before. Briar Rose is within walking distance of all of Vancouver's charm. As other reviews mentioned, the Thai place a block over is delicious but we also ate at a chili parlour, Slow Fox, that was delightful. Briar Rose Inn is def a 10 out of 10!!!

My dad and I stayed here 4 nights while on a 2-week 'father-daughter adventure' vacation around western Washington. Our hosts were wonderful; Sallie took care of our reservations and logistical coordination, and Ted created delicious breakfasts each day. We were made to feel very much at home! Because we were in the room that did not have en suite bathroom, Sallie was kind enough to block the other room off so we didn't have to share with other guests (thank you, Sallie!!!) The Inn was absolutely gorgeous and the attention to detail in decorating and accommodation was superb. We enjoyed the location, from which we could walk to the delightful Farmers' Market, as well as several restaurants. The downtown waterfront area was a short drive away - and we were also able to do activities in nearby Portland as well. I was more impressed with Vancouver, WA than I was with Portland. We just loved our stay at the Briar Rose, and would gladly recommend it to other travelers. For the price, it couldn't be beat!
