I went to the Chevron gas station and then was a guest at the Quality Inn-Van Horn, Texas on July 20, 2025 and was able to ENJOY A NICE ADULT BEVERAGE and take a shower! I liked the bar soap and clean blankets; I DID NOT LIKE: the fact that the water was not hot for my shower! I did not have the FREE CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST, but maybe next time! The personnel (Patricia) are very knowledgeable and flexible. Of the 3 hotels we stayed THIS one gave the best customer service at a VERY reasonable rate. Amenities included a microwave, fridge/freezer, cable TV, iron, hair dryer, pool. Plenty of lighting in the room and WORKING A/C! Of particular delight was a full buffet breakfast, which we were not expecting. All in all a pleasant, restful place to sleep on a long trip. This is an honest, nonpaid review from a family that spent 9 unreimbursed days&nights on the road.

Great location, great front desk service. We had a little issue with Choice Hotel Rewards. It was stated that Quality Inn was sold out. We drove around the hotel, maybe 2 cars. We walked in and spoke with the front desk clerk. She stated that they were not sold out and had plenty of rooms. As we waited for Choice Hotels to check the information, the front desk person offered us water and worked with Choice Hotel over the phone. She was very patient, kind and polite. Yes, the rooms are little outdated, but great location, good price and great front desk service. Quiet, comfortable and breakfast is good, Parking is right in front of your room. No elevator and ice machine didn’t work.

The hairdryer did not work. GFI outlet showed it had shorted out and was black with soot as was the plug in. I reported to the front desk and they said they notified maintenance.
