Van Horn Hotels with Wi-Fi

Arrived from a long, hot, 6 hour drive from San Antonio. We had reserved a king suite. Upon check -in we were told the elevator was out of order and we would have to use the stairs. There are 3 of us, one with a disability and one over 70 years old. Climbing stairs was not an option, let alone lugging all of our belongings with us. We were able to get a room on the first floor, but there are no suites on the first floor. You are unable to access the ice machine freely, and factoring in the current heat is insane. I requested a discount for the smaller room and the front desk did t k ow how to make that happen and she was unable to get ahold of anyone to authorize the discount or credit. I do have to compliment the young woman working the front desk. She was very pleasant and did her best to make things work for us. She deserves to be noticed for that, but we still would like to be compensated for the smaller room. It would be nice that when you make a reservation you are notified of the broken elevator, lack of access to the ice machine, and any other issues. I have been unable to find contact information for the GM from my quick search before we get some sleep. We would truly appreciate to be contacted and compensated. Thank uou.

Check in was smooth since a new person learning. Then lead lady took a phone call helping someone get cheap hotels rate. Anyway she or he did not acknowledge us as Elite or tell us about our points! When we got to room the fire alarm was on the floor so took it to office. She got maintenance and when they came no new alarm because Monday they are having all new put in. Even if they put it up it wouldn’t work!! She helped with address to Cattlemen Restaurant but they don’t have good reviews. We went to Hotel El Capitan instead. Nice place Good food! The Quality Inn next to I-10. They need better windows & thick door to help with truck noise! Could clean corners better!! Love new up light mirror!

Motel 6 Van Horn is located just minutes from Culberson County Airport near a variety of dining and entertainment. This Motel 6 offers a business center and free WiFi throughout the building.

We will definitely stay at this hotel again if we are passing through again! Everything was clean in the room, in the lobby, in the hallways, and the exterior. The room had everything we needed and was in great condition. Really good shower, good, blackout curtains, had a mini fridge, and an AC that can be adjusted. Even had a good TV! There are plugs and USB charging ports right on the wall on each side of the bed that are so convenient. It was quiet, as well. The front desk staff was always helpful and courteous and happy to be at work. They had a good breakfast selection, but not gluten-free and vegan options besides oatmeal. But otherwise they had a great selection! They have a free grab bag to-go that had water and apple and other snacks in it.

Room was clean and smelled good, unlike many other rooms that reeked of other repulsive smells. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was coffee and breakfast ITEM. 🤷‍♀️. McDonald’s was right next door. Good location. Would stay again.

Nice & clean NEW hotel w comfortable beds/pillows. Pet friendly, safe place to stay in the middle of nowhere after a very long drive; def stay here again. Kudos to Patricia at the front desk; she was very efficient, welcoming & friendly. PROs: Extremely clean; no carpet/drapes in room keeps it smell free; double queen room with ample space & small fridge; no closet but multiple hooks/shelves & long multipurpose desk/suitcase area; smart, large screen TV with interface to stream; shampoo, conditioner, & body wash dispenser in shower; plenty of hoy water; free innovative grab & go, or stay and eat, b’fast area with wide assortment of b’fast foods, fruit & premade Jimmy Dean hot sandwiches; pet friendly with ample ‘rocky’ areas w/ shrubs; extremely well light, safe parking lot/area. CONS: #1 The bathroom night light turns on the VERY BRIGHT light when you approach the bathroom…may wake light sensitive sleepers up. Luckily I had an eye mask.IHG should replace these or cover them up w duct tape. #2 The pet relief area w green plastic turf was full of poop…bad on the owners for not picking it up. Only one bag dispenser & it was out of bags. Area is shared with Holiday Inn Express next door. Luckily there were landscaped ‘rocky’ areas for pets to use but management should ensure ample bags are readily available for those who should, but may not, have them, & add more trash receptacles. #3 Freight trains run through Van Horn so bring your ear plugs. Otherwise, the hotel was relatively quiet considering it was full. #4 Ice machine was on first floor but that kept the upper floors quiet.
