Room smells musty. My husband was getting allergies. Furniture is outdated. Curtain is broken. Elevator and refrigerator out of service. Just saw a cockroach walking out of the closet. Not even worth it for the money. I’m dumbfounded as to why this hotel has good reviews.

I have stayed here 5 - 7 times in the last as many years - sometimes with friends in another room around the corner and the last couple of times with my partner. I am almost certain that 'breakfast included' was listed at the time of my reservation, and that 'elevator' was an amenity. Neither turned out to be true. Previously, I carried my bicycle upstairs - I can do that. Last time we were there I also carried Sue's electric assist bike up the stairs from time to time because the elevator was very sketchy, only operating intermittently. This time we did not bring our bikes and I carried my luggage upstairs, then went back down for hers and to assist her up... The Wi-Fi was crap almost the whole time. Several connections listed, only one ever worked, and that only out on the terasa, not in the room. Upside of being out on the terasa is that it feels very comfy and 'homey' as long as there are not too many people out there smoking and / or shouting at each other. The latter was a semi-regular occurrence during this visit, often until after 11 p.m. or even midnight. When we arrived the bed was pushed over nearly to the outside wall leaving only a few inches to 'walk' by. We pushed it the 15 - 18 inches back to line up with the built in nightstand on the other side of the headboard. We used the 'clip the curtain to keep it closed' hack, but not with one of the hangers from the room because there was only one. When I went down and asked for more hangers so we could hang our clothes separately they told me that they didn't have any more. We opted for breakfast there one morning and it seemed very slow to arrive. Sue paid after I had gone back to the room [for some reason] and waiter shorted her significantly on the change. She argued with him, and got the rest of it, but he wouldn't show her the bill again to confirm the cost. Toilet paper STINKS!!! Very 'aromatic' and when we were running out early on in the stay I went down to get more at the front desk [we usually don't bother with daily service for the room] with no issue, except that the next day after again telling room guys, and front desk, to NOT service the room they did, took away the extra roll of paper and set the a / c for 22 C [which is stupid cold for those who don't know Celsius]. Also left us one wet towel and took the rest away... Only outlet available to charge computers etc. was by the fridge and the fridge needed to be unplugged to use it. Same site for boiling water for coffee / tea in the a.m. - just put the garbage can upside down on the fridge, unplug the fridge, and good to go!! Sheets were the wrong size for the bed so were on sideways [we've seen this in other hotels as well]. The Mirador, ? bar and restaurant now [used to be just a place to go sit and look around the zocalo] provided VERY loud, thumping noise [no apparent music attached] pretty well every night until well after bedtime for those doing something in the morning. The ice machine upstairs was

The hotel is beautiful, and the location is the best, but rooms are horrible and poor. No isulation so I coul hear everything happening in the street. Broken and dirty curtains. Bed linen is very old and wasted, with yellow marks. The shower is old and there is no pressure also sometimes, cold or hot water doesn't work. Only 1 small towel per person and very old and wasted too. There is no feet towel, and the floor is slippery when wet in the bathroom. I had to ask for another toilet paper too as it is a cheap one that is gone in 1 night and we stayed 3 nights. No toilet brush.Very old and dirty. Poorly maintained rooms. Also the terrace with views is not part of the jotel, as it is a restaurant where one can visit if having dinner (no drinks only allowed).
