Excellent stay at the Bear hotel, would recommend

Great breakfast. Choose if you are going to stay for short-term. Wifi is so bad!

Great little place and great price

A nice little hotel with bar and restaurant, decent breakfast , really offering a nice choice of traditional or lite meal. Clean , helpful staff, especially the handyman who made sure i had a fan in my room. Small rooms but comfortable , just a bit too stuffy in the hot weather. All in all a satisfactory pleasant place to stay

While a bit faded by age, this provided a serviceable night's sleep. The rooms are clean, if creaky, and the breakfast lovely. Bed was harder than I like it, but this is only hotel in the area and the building itself is a historical treasure to wander around.

Beautiful old world building the interior being in keeping with the history of the building. The pub is the centre point for your dinning with plenty of room to Accommodate guests,bar area if u only want a drink and outside table chair option. Decor is old exposed beams with low ceilings. Staff were brilliant, decent menus with the food quality being very good. Rooms are converted out buildings ours had three separate rooms in it , accessible through our own front door and up two flights stairs The room was small but full of charm with its four post bed, beams and a beautiful quiet aspect out of the back window(backed onto a sandstone church and grounds) beautiful. Well fitted modern shower toilet, mod Cons inc tv little fridge, hair dryer, tea, coffee facilities also a Small double seat and table and chairs. Overall we found it worth its price Parking £5 a day in the court yard where your rooms are, parking is premium in the area the hotel is in so this was a big plus.
