Since we discovered it in 2021, we always stay at the Racquet Club when we come to Vail. We love the amenities, the beautiful quiet location and the lofted bedrooms for the kids. It is an easy drive to vail village or an easy bus ride with the bus stop right across the street. We look forward to coming back next year!

The property views are great. However, unit 15 at building 3 is without A/c and no elevator to the 3rd floor. The unit is outdated, carpet is stained, and the balcony is with rusty chairs and dirty little table. When we opened the door, air was so stuffy ; we were loooking for A/C. There is none! We had to sleep with opened porch door, and traffic noise from nearby road was unbearable. Unit has 2 industrial fans but they are extremely noisy.By the end of 3rd day, I had pounding heat migraine, dizziness, and TV is only available in the stuffy living room. I am giving 2 stars for a wonderful health club. We will not be back!!!

We came for our wedding anniversary after getting married here. I told them that at the front desk. Check out was at 10 AM and they couldn’t provide a late check out which is ridiculous. When we arrived late the first evening, it took us a half an hour to get into the unit because the lighting is terrible to walk or find, and the unit door wouldn’t open. We had to wait for staff to come open the jammed door. When I spoke to the front desk after telling them we would be arriving late, they could’ve told us that it was on the river side second floor, which is been really helpful instead of us wandering around with the un-lit building. The unit mattress was terribly old and soft and sunken in the middle. Then the unit above us had a kid tap dancing which woke us up at 7 AM. I called the front desk and I literally saw the child tap dancing out of the building and talking about what a good tap dancer he was.

Huge bummer. Great property, but the unit had so many issues. No internet. Spent our second day waiting around to get that fixed. Toaster just about set the place on fire. Got a new one. Coffee maker broken, got a new one. Then after getting the internet fixed, lock to the front door wouldn’t work. Waited around again to get that fixed. They really shouldn’t be renting units with this much wrong. Oh and no hair dryer. The 2 bedroom plus loft we stayed in obviously not suitable for renters.

I just completed my fourth stay at Vail Racquet Club. Your stay at VRC is directly based on the unit you get. Each unit is owned individually and amenities are based on what the owner provides. The condition of the unit is also based on owner upkeep. My first three stays here were great - 4 or 5 stars each. My latest stay would rank 1 star. It was just that bad. This is a summary of the issues: Pots and pans severely damaged with coating flaking off. Limited number of pots & pans. No pantry to speak of (details below). Very limited shelf / drawer space in bedroom (details below). No dish rack. Many lights / switches not working. Unit is dim. Bed soft and lumpy. Broken cabinets. Lack of appliances (compared to previous stays). Previous units that I had stayed in were well taken care of with lots of extras. Here there is none of that. Even basic utensils did not work (a can opener that would not engage). Cooking was problematic as the pans all had flaking non stick coatings. The pantry is set up with a single shelf, set high, with a can of paint and light bulbs on that single shelf. A broom is under the shelf. So, there is no room at all for food supplies. (Previous units had the pantry set up with multiple availabe shelves - and the broom placed with the water heater). The drawer / shelf space in the bedroom is limited. The closet has shelves, but they are taken up with bedding supplies (for the living room sofa). The forks/spoons/knives are thrown into a drawer. No organizer. In the bedroom there is a DVD player. Yes, a DVD player. However, it isn’t plugged in. There are only two outlets behind the TV - one being used on the TV, the other the cable box. If you are going to provide a DVD player at least have some sort of outlet spltter so it could be plugged in. Staff here is quite good and can provide assistance with requests such as towels and bathroom supplies. But when it comes to what's furnished in the unit, nothing can be done. There was no dish rack, so that's that. The humidifier didn't work properly, but they didn't have spares. Internet connectivity and speed was excellent on all my stays.

I’ve stayed at Vail Racquet Club four times over the past 4 years. To recap quickly - the unit you get can be in a range from 1 to 5 stars. It’s that inconsistent. The quality of the unit you get is totally based on the unit’s owner. My first three stays were 4 or 5 star quality. Fully stocked units with everything working. Now, onto my current stay. The unit I’m in is not in good shape. It is not worth what Vail Racquet Club charges for it. It’s unfortunate that the unit assigned is luck of the draw when booked through VRC. This is a ONE star stay. The unit is not well lit. There are three lamps in the living area and two light switches that do nothing. You’ll need to turn on at the lamp, and as I mentioned, even with all three on it is dim. On my third day here I tried various outlets and found a plug going to the fireplace plugged into a switched outlet. I moved the lamp to that switch. (And, this power plug is not required for the fireplace to work. I tested it and when plugged in and powered on it does nothing). Picture provided. Space for food items and clothing is VERY limited. There is a pantry with a single shelf. On that shelf are lightbulbs and a can of paint. The single shelf is set high as the pantry is where the owner keeps the broom. (In previous units, the pantry had many shelves free (with the broom placed with the water heater). The shelving in the bedroom closet is filled with bedding for the sleeper sofa severely limiting space for clothes. The pots and pans in this unit are ALL badly scratched with the non stick coating flaking off. How are you expected to cook with pans like these? Picture provided. The hall light switch in this unit is broken. A dish rack wasn’t provided (as it has been in previous stays) meaning I have to dry dishes on towels. Not terrible, but certainly a demerit. The forks/spoons/knives are thrown into a drawer. No organizer. The appliances provided in my first three stays were extensive, in this case it’s minimal. In the bedroom there is a DVD player. Yes, a DVD player. However, it isn’t plugged in. There are only two outlets behind the TV - one being used on the TV, the other the cable box. If you are going to provide a DVD player at least have some sort of outlet spltter so it could be plugged in. On the other hand, on all 4 stays here the Internet provided has been excellent. The staff here is excellent too. As I mentioned at the beginning, I’d say again, but with tempered expectations.

Rather dated, prob built in 80, and the construction, old paint jobs and other features show it (the website's pictures are a bit misleading). But that would be OK if kept up. We had a 3 story, 3 bedroom townhome and the three heating units (electric baseboard units) on ground floor where the living area and kitchen are did not work. One morning it was < 10 degrees Fahrenheit out and it was freezing on ground floor. Electric outlet in master bathroom sink area also did not work. Minor: No cutting board in kitchen (who can prepare meals without one these days?). Also minor: In pool locker room, swimming suit spinner did not work, and there were almost no available lockers open for use. Place needs work-over by electricians. Seems to add up to a picture that maintenance and upkeep are being short-shrifted. Probably because they can rent them out fully at current demand? So it's OK but just that. Bus to Vail Village is convenient. (That lovely steaming, large outside pool in the pic: barely lukewarm and so no one used it, so hot tubs were jammed).

Made a last minute trip to Vail for New Year's Eve week. As it was peak holiday season an average hotel room starting price was $1200 per night. We were so fortunate to find the Vail Racquet Club Mountain Resort. About a 10 minute drive from Vail proper connected by shuttles running every 15 minutes, we found it to be conveniently located. Set in a wooded area we stayed in a one-bedroom condo with kitchen, living area with fireplace and balcony with a gas grill for about $400 per night. We did not use pool/hot tub but would pass it on the way to the shuttle and the facilities looked nice. There is a restaurant/bar open in main building most nights. We parked right in front of our accommodations. We will definitely stay here again.
