W onderful Stay at Tucan Hotel – Highly Recommended! We spent three amazing days at Tucan Hotel in Uvita and absolutely loved it. From the first contact until the moment we left, communication was excellent. The staff is friendly, attentive, and truly committed to making your stay enjoyable. The hotel features a beautiful inner garden – a peaceful oasis where you can relax and unwind. Each morning, there’s a generous breakfast buffet with plenty of options, and you can also order a traditional Costa Rican breakfast, which we highly recommend for a local culinary experience. We stayed in the converted camper, which the current owner used to travel all the way from Canada to Uvita – such a unique and charming accommodation! It’s fully equipped with everything you need and offers a one-of-a-kind experience that you won’t easily forget. Host Pierre deserves a special mention. He is incredibly helpful, always available to assist – whether it’s booking tours, giving travel advice, or helping plan the next leg of your journey. Nothing is too much for him, and his local tips are super valuable. In short: Tucan Hotel is a cozy, welcoming place with a personal touch, great breakfast, a lush garden, and unique lodging options. Outstanding hotel in a good location with amazing staff and owner definitely will visit again

hostel type atmosphere but definitely had a focus on selling you drinks and food at high prices. In commercial area just off main road, not near beachside. Breakfast was disappointing and not comparable to other hostels; no juice. Good smoothies but other drinks were $10usd or more. Good staff but limited knowledge of area behind tours they sold.

Sebastian one of the workers has an absolutely terrible attitude and should be fired. He was the person working when I arrived and was perfectly nice for the first 24 hours. Then, it’s like the mask came off and he was his real self extremely inappropriate and rude. You don’t call somebody lazy when they’re on vacation that’s crazy even if you’re just joking. Still crazy and inappropriate. Also, it’s not my problem what the housekeeper is going to be pissed off about so you don’t have to mention it to me. They need to make towels here and take them out of the bunks . Maybe get this specific worker to stop complaining incessantly and it’ll be a better vibe.

The staff was attentive and very willing to help you…Steven was very nice and gave us a welcome tour of the property and amenities…the only draw back and it was very small..no outlet in the bathroom…other than that the price was more than reasonable for the stay..🙂

This was a very unique property for us. It's part hostel part hotel. Our room was small but was fine. The staff was super nice and gave a tour of the property. We enjoyed the bar and the pool and we were within walking distance of a fabulous dining spot.
