TLDR: This review and all the other 5 star are true. If you love adventure and the outdoors, you won't be disappointed! My wife and I went to VC in December on our Honeymoon. As someone who did tons of research and read numerous TripAdvisor reviews before booking a trip, I had high expectations of VC after reading all of the other reviews. Those expectations were met and exceeded in every way! With the small number of people at the hotel at any given time, you are treated like royalty during your stay. STAFF: Incredible! Attentive. Friendly. Accommodating. By the end of the trip, the staff were friends and it was hard to stay goodbye. Jose, Josue, Anthony, Pam, Henry, and Noelia are the best! But those are only the people you see most days. There's a unsung team behind the scenes always making the grounds look clean and beautiful. As well as cleaning up your room seemingly anytime you leave it for more than 5min. FOOD/DRINK: Delicious! Fresh. Filling. Never boring. Josue, Johnny, and Adriana are masters at their craft. Dinner menus were always different with multiple options to choose from. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were always prepared beautifully. The drinks were delicious and we enjoyed having the bartenders surprise us with their creations. We definitely came home with some new cocktail recipes to make ourselves, but will also miss getting brought another drink whenever ours was low. ROOMS: The view is second to none! The villas are beautiful and always kept clean. A/C works great and there's plenty of hot water. While they are all right next to each other, they are very private and you feel like you have your own slice of the jungle to yourself. The walk from the rooms to the pool/restaurant is very doable but you definitely get your stair steps in for the day. THE JUNGLE: Remember, you are in the jungle. While the rooms are very clean, if you can't deal with the occasional gecko, spider, or ant that sneaks into your room or birds chirping at sunrise, this place isn't for you. That jungle is also so lush and it is what you are there for. We were there at the beginning of the dry season, so I can't speak for other times of the year, but it still rained every day. Mostly not very heavy and mostly only for 10-20min at most. Because of the elevation of the hotel, the days are very pleasant even if there is sunshine and nights are very comfortable as well. TRANSPORTATION: We had transportation included in our package and anytime we wanted to go to the beach VC arranged everything. As mentioned by others, you need 4x4 to reach the hotel. The drive from the airport is well over 3hrs on winding but paved roads until you need to take the dirt road up to the hotel. You are there for the serenity and exclusivity, so we didn't mind the bumpy rides to and from town and the long commute to and from the airport. Have fun and say hi to the staff for us! -Kyle
