Revel Hotel des Moines Urbandale, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

Typically, the Tapestry and Curio collection hotels by Hilton are not my thing, there was nothing wrong, but just wasn't my thing. I thought I would give this one a try after reviewing the photos and the reviews. This Tapestry collection hotel was a nice surprise to me. It was very modern in the hotel, a large shower, and very homey feeling. The lobby had some nice nightlife with pool tables, TV's and the fully stocked bar. The service at the bar with good and the food was perfect. They were changing the menu, so they were out of some items. The surrounding area was rolling and felt quiet being in the country.

This hotel was 10 star. All employees especially the bartenders were very friendly. The restaurant food was very good and the breakfast buffet was also good. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable and the exercise room was the best I have ever seen in a hotel. Don't hesitate. Stay at this hotel and enjoy.

This was our first stay at a Hilton Tapestry and it was outstanding. The rooms were modern, clean and spacious. The only complaint was the design of the shower - which basically allows anyone coming in and out of the room to see you in the shower - was weird. But beyond that, the room was great. The hotel offers a fun bar/social area off the lobby which doubles for the breakfast space - which was outstanding. The fitness center was next level. Easily the nicest and most comprehensive that I have seen at a traditional hotel property - honestly, it rivaled fitness centers I have seen at resorts. It was that good. Overall, a 10 out of a 10. Will definitely stay again.

We requested a quiet room, away from the elevator. We stayed in Room 345. There was a large group of baseball players and we were a bit apprehensive about the potential for noise. It was very quiet night. Room was clean, staff friendly. Usual breakfast fare, no complaints. Would stay again.

Cool looking hotel. Clean room. Thought it was weird that the shower with clear door was open to the rest of the room. This would make most people feel uncomfortable if they’re sharing the room. Weird stains on the wall. Right next to interstate and could hear cars driving by.

The front desk staff were very friendly when we checked-in. The rooms were clean and quiet. We also enjoyed the complimentary breakfast offered and the location was very convenient with the restaurant next door! Would stay here again!

We stayed at the Revel Hotel in Urbandale during an Iowa State Fair weekend. The location of the hotel is great, as there are many restaurants, shops, etc. within close proximity to the hotel. Downtown Des Moines is only about a 20-minute drive, so it was easy for us to get to the downtown farmer's market on Saturday morning, as well as the IA State Fair. The hotel is only a couple of years old and is decorated very nicely. There is a really nice outdoor patio area. The hotel has a nice bar and some delicious signature cocktails, which we were able to take outside and enjoy on the patio. The room was very clean and had some really nice "extra touches" such as a separate area for the toilet, a nightlight under the bathroom sink which was controlled by a wall switch, a lighted mirror in the bathroom area, and USB chargers on the bedside lamps. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows--which had both feather pillows as well as foam pillows. The breakfast was very good and had both hot items such as bacon, pancakes, and eggs as well as yogurt, fruit, toast, etc. You would definitely not go away hungry. We also ordered a charcuterie board one evening of our stay as we just wanted to stay in our room and relax. It was amazing--easily the best charcuterie board that we have ever had. In addition to all of the great things that I detailed above, the customer service was excellent. While all of the staff was friendly and courteous, the manager, Brian, was fantastic--he seemed to do it all--work the front desk, answer calls, act as the bartender, etc. He even attempted to help me with a problem with ***********. It was some of the best customer service that we have ever received at a hotel. If you are looking for a beautiful hotel in a great location, look no further. It is going to be our "go to" hotel when visiting Des Moines.

The hotel itself is great, but the staff is even better! From check in, to dinner, breakfast and the check out, the staff shines. The rooms were clean and well taken care of. The food at the lounge was amazing!
