HORROR, vies, vuil,ranzig en bedwantsen. Het eten, niet te eten. 2 weken terug thuis en nog last van jeuk overal. Geen wit zandstrand aan het hotel. Spijtig zat dit goedkoop motel in de reis en opgelet met de afrekening , je krijgt geen bonnetje. NOOIT meer Fumba Beach.

Wir hatten im April 2024 eine Pauschalreise nach Sansibar über FTI gebucht. Kurz darauf war das Thema FTI bekanntermaßen beendet. Daraufhin haben wir auf eigene Faust das ursprüngliche Hotel Fumba Beach Lodge mit der großartigen Hilfe von Edwin dem Besitzer, gebucht. Da die Bewertungen teilweise extrem auseinander gehen, von sehr gut bis mangelhaft, konnten wir uns jetzt selbst ein Bild von der Anlage machen. Nach der Ankunft als erstes en Schalter umlegen und Pole Pole Hakuna Matata, wir sind in Afrika. Die Anlage liegt wunderschön gelegen in einem Naturschutzgebiet. Ja, das Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen, es handelt sich aber auch nicht um das Waldorf Astoria in Dubai. Ich könnte jetzt stundenlang auf die vielen Bewertungen eingehen, dass würde aber den Rahmen sprengen, deshalb nur einige. Das Essen hat uns ausgezeichnet geschmeckt und wurde immer frisch zubereitet. Oh mein Gott, es gibt Tiere auf der Insel, Ameisen, Moskitos, Fliegen und vieles mehr, ihr seid in der Natur. Damit nicht genug, es gibt Ebbe und Flut (wer hat sich so etwas einfallen lassen), aber kein Problem, bei dem Baobab Baum neben der Bar ist die tiefste Stelle und da kann man bei Flut sehr wohl baden. Alles in Allem hat es uns sehr gut gefallen. Wer abschalten möchte ist hier genau richtig. Vielen Dank an das gesamte Fumba Beach Lodge Team.

Wir waren nach einer kurzen Safari für 2 Wochen auf Zanzibar und haben in Tansania insgesamt 8 verschiedene Hotels und Lodges getestet. Fumba hat eine schöne Gartenanlage, viel Pflanzenbewuchs. Schöne Pool-Area mit gemütlicher Bar und tollen Details, zB. Baumhaus im Baobab. Zimmer in die Jahre gekommen, aber noch ok, allerdings nur kaltes Wasser in der Dusche. Essen leider unterirdisch. Vielleicht gab es hier einen Wechsel in der Küche, aber ich kann mir die anderen Rezensionen bezüglich des Essens nicht erklären. Von allen Hotels hatten wir hier das schlechteste Essen, obwohl teurer als anderswo. Das Frühstücksbuffet war voller Fliegen und Ameisen. (Süße) Pancakes schmecken stark nach Speckfett, Eier gummihart gekocht, Kaffee dünn. Burgerbrötchen mittags steinhart, mein „Gartensalat“ eine Mischung aus Dosenmais und welkem Gemüse, schmeckte fischig. Nach ein paar größtenteils liegengelassenen Mahlzeiten hat man einfach Hunger und schlechte Laune.

The hotel was fantastic. We had a room overlooking the sea. The rooms were very spacious and clean. Everything you need was available, tea/ coffee, water, gowns, soaps. The terrace was lovely to sit on with comfy chairs. The food was delicious and varied. I am vegetarian and the choice was great. The pool area and bar had a lovely relaxed atmosphere. We also went on the boat trip organised by the hotel, to another island. We did snorkelling and had a lovely lunch on the island. Highly recommend. The staff were really friendly and helpful, especially Sharon. Hope to return one day!

After an exciting but tiring Safari it was nice to really relax at Fumba Beach Lodge. Our luxury suite overlooked the ocean with direct access to the beach (less than 15 yards away). We had our beach beds . The room was very spacious and rustic. The hot outdoor showers were fantastic. The set-up of Fumba caters for relaxation with a swimming pool to cool down and at sundown a cocktail and laughter while you chat with the other guests, bar staff and manager/owner. A pole pole approach suited us and the fact that there was no wifi or tv in our room was perfect. Most evenings we were treated to a fantastic sunset. The staff are very friendly and helpful. If you are willing to try and say a few words in Swahili you will get a big smile in return. The lodge can organise a number of excursion for you and will gladly liaise with the local providers if there are any queries or issues. I thoroughly recommend Fumba Beach Lodge and Sharon and her team will make your experiences memorable one.

I, together with a girlfriend had the opportunity to spend 4 nights in Fumba Beach Lodge, this beautiful place on earth. This is definitely a place to relax and enjoy lazy days. Waking up to the sound of waves crashing against the beach. The area is equipped with observation points along the beach to rest and enjoy the view of the sea. The staff at the lodge were pleasant, welcoming and helpful, and the food was delicious. Sharon was keen to ensure that the guests were comfortable during their stay. Edwin in his favorite seat at the "happy hour" bar entertained the guests with his jokes. This is a place I will return to and highly recommend.

Property was beautiful. Staff fabulous. Great welcome from the host Sharon. The lodge rooms are in the middle of nature - enjoy the monkeys, bush baby and Aardvarks!! Beach walks at low tide are a must as well as swimming at high tide. Happy hour is great if you’re travelling alone - it was all superb! Thank you

An oasis of calm, set within tropical gardens facing the ocean. Very spacious rooms with excellent facilities. Drinks at the Dhow bar watching the sunset, glorious Swimming in the ocean and pool, a welcome treat after a trip to Stone Town. Friendly, efficient staff. Excellent breakfasts
