Located in the nearest town to Fraser Island, the hotel is a family-run Airbnb. The kitchen in the room is large and suitable for a large family. Just across the street from the B&B is the Fisherman's Wharf Seafood Wholesale Market, which is very convenient to buy and cook yourself. B&B facilities are not as good as hotels and resorts. The swimming pool is small and the service is average. There is no 24-hour front desk. Early check-in and late check-out are not allowed. Because it is a family business, there is no time to clean and tidy the room. If you don’t mind these, it is still a cost-effective local accommodation option.

What should be a good apartment was run down and tired. A single lift rated to 13 people had a restriction to handle a max of 3 people - no explanation of why and whether it was a health and safety problem. The apartment was dirty. Marks everywhere, soiled outside table, worn rubbers on the patio door, dirty blinds and disgusting air conditioner vents that don’t look they have been cleaned for a very long time, stained carpets, the list goes on and on.

Fantastic place to stay. It was for my 80th birthday and I had a bottle of champagne on the table when we arrived and also the use of a BBQ on our terrace. The only problem was the weather but then they have no control over that. Had a fantastic time in a beautiful room. Thanks Akama for making my special day so memorable. Dawn Stockwell

Beautifully apartment in a great location. Kitchen had everything you could think of for a comfortable stay including milk frother and nespresso machine for deliciou lattes! Rooms were comfortable and a spacious living area with wonderful views. Pool was very good and heated including a lovely hot tub! Highly recommend

Very nice spacious apartment well looked after. Large kitchen some small appliances could do with an update due to age but all worked and served us ok. Close to boat harbour club, where we had nice dinner within easy walking distance. Main shopping area is a short drive. Pretty little town.

Hotel was amazing, the view was spectacular!!
The room itself though had a few items that needed fixing like the sliding door to the main room was broken, the sliding door to the lounge was extremely difficult to slide and the ensuite was very rough and had broken splatter rail and tiles throughout tho none of this spoilt the stay it would just be nice of the owners fixed this as they are renting a penthouse so it needs to be penthouse standard.

We were there for my son's wedding and loved the property. Lots of room and lovely. only part was carrying all our luggage down 4 flights of stairs as we left on the flood bound Sunday. Had to get our cars out of garage as it was filling up fast.
Really enjoyed our stay even with the weather on the Sunday.

Family Catchup
The Apartment was in a good location directly opposite the Boat Club where you could have meals or drinks. A lot of Tours left from this area as well. It was a great apartment, three bedroom with ensuite and a large deck with concertina doors. The living area was huge, a great place to stay. It does need a little maintenance mainly painting but we could see that the deck ceiling was recently replaced with new LED lights, not painted yet. So I assume they are trying to paint it and upgrade the lighting soon. We would definitely stay there again, good position, nice pool, great room.
