Great place to stay with excellent service. Food was amazing and the atmosphere was very friendly and homely. Staff were really great. Plenty of lovely areas to sit and the bedrooms were comfortable. Everywhere was clean and you just needed to ask for anything you wanted.

Comfy beds, relaxing surroundings, cordon bleu food, and fabulous staff who make you feel like family - what more could you want? the dinner, bed and breakfast package with wine paring is so worth sampling and the porridge with whiskey cream is to die for!

From the moment you enter Ardtara house you relax. The beautiful entrance the welcoming lit fire, the warm welcome from staff- your mind just switches off. All the rooms were so inviting. Our room with the view of the garden and the lit open fire both our immediate reaction was we should have booked 2 nights! This is definitely the most relaxing stay we have ever. The food was outstanding both at dinner and breakfast but their staff were outstanding each and every one, friendly and on hand for everything. You need to experience it. We will definitely be back.

We arrived soaking wet after a downpour on Portrush beach and a warm welcome with a fire in the hall was just what we needed. We were told a fire was lit in our room and that we had been upgraded too! The room was perfect!!! We enjoyed a delicious evening meal which had wine paired with it. We slept soundly that night. Breakfast was fantastic too. Leanne who looked after us was a delight. It was lovely to meet Sean the hotel manager too. We hope to visit again soon when we return to Ireland.

Friendly welcoming team, lovely atmosphere in a beautiful period country house. Rooms are all delightful and ours had a lovely fire going so it was very cosy. Very comfy beds. Food is always excellent. Ardtara has been a family favourite for special occasions over many years.

Party of eight Disappointing Sunday Lunch . Overpriced for quality of produce served. Very small portions. Not as expected from Ian Orr restaurant. Experienced recent “Browns” food no comparison! Second disappointing meal in this hotel .

From the moment we arrived we felt relaxed and at home. The decor was beautiful, the fire in the bedroom was so welcoming. The staff were friendly, welcoming and hard working. We went for the tasting menu - fine dining paired with excellent wine. Good location for walks nearby in Garvagh Forest and the Nature Reserve. Truly a place to get away from it all. We were sorry we couldn't have stayed longer.

Our stay at Ardtara Country House was excellent. From the moment we arrived we were made very welcome by Sean using our first names throughout the stay was a nice touch! The room with the front view was amazing, our own fire which gave a cosy feeling to the Victorian style decor. We opted for the tasting menu, seven courses of the most amazing dishes, our tastes buds were on overdrive!! I have done several tasting menus and this one by far was exceptional. All the staff were fantastic and their professionalism was highly noticed. I recommend a visit or a stay and you will not be disappointed!!
