Stayed: July 27 – August 2, 2025 Purpose: Attending the DCI Eastern Classic We chose this hotel because we’re IHG Rewards Club members and it carried a 4-star rating. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of that expectation. The room was fairly clean, but we found a small clump of hair in the sheets, which was unsettling. The furniture was mismatched, heavily worn, and stained, and the TV was quite small—maybe 42" at best. My husband had to repair the shower door himself just to get it to slide properly. One side of the bed had no working outlet, making it difficult to charge devices overnight. The hallways and elevator were filthy, with carpets that looked stained and smelled unpleasant. The overall odor throughout the hotel was off-putting and lingered throughout our stay. A particularly frustrating issue was the handicap parking situation. Three freshly painted spots were blocked off with cones for four days—right during the busy DCI weekend, when parking was already scarce. Eventually, guests began moving the cones and parking there out of necessity. It was a poor decision to schedule maintenance during such a high-traffic event that occurs annually in Allentown. On a positive note, the staff was extremely pleasant and courteous, which we appreciated. However, despite their professionalism, the condition of the property was disappointing enough that we’ve decided to remove Holiday Inn Express from our list of preferred hotel brands going forward.

The fire alarm went off at 9pm. We all had to find a new hotel after fire dept finished. Things happen but it ******. We'll see how they handle the refund.

Unfortunately during our two night three day stay there was a fire in the facility. We had to find our own accommodations and pay for it.

The staff was all extremely nice but the condition of the hotel is very outdated. The walls and ceilings are all cracked in the room as well as hallway. Upon entering my room there was dry yellow pee stain on my toilet seat which means it was not cleaned . The property needs full renovation and better deep cleaning.
