Lovely stay. great location, we were able to just walk to the restaurants and bars and then back again. Beautiful rooms and the bed was just a dream, had such a good stay, Had the breakfast at the hotel restaurant and it was very yum. Staff at restaurant and hotel were really good too.

The staff were rude, the rooms were apparently cleaned but to my dismay the table in the room was covered in dust, the shower floor needed a good scrub, the rooms smelt musty and aggravated my allergies.This hotel is clearly not maintained the way it should be, I am sure it was previously deserving of its 4 stars but after this most recent stay it certainly is not. My colleagues room had a blood stained matress, my roommates bedding had holes in it and when she requested new bedding (on arrival) she was told housekeeping went home and theres nothing they can do until the morning. When we questioned whether the room was actually cleaned, the receptionist told her that she was wrong as if we were checked in that means the rooms were cleaned... does this mean the poor state of the room is the standard of cleanliness? The overall impression of the service and staff was unfriendly, unmotivated and lazy. In the middle of the night, we packed our things up as we were not happy with our experience and didn't even receive a professional check out experience and went to a more established hotel down the road.

Service from reception and housekeeping needs some attention, we requested for a porter which did not come, we had to carry our own luggage out. room service was pathetic, we ordered a meal which did not come after being told that it was on its way. it is disappointing as Royal palm is our preference hotel to stay at when we visit KZN

The overall experience in the hotel was excellent. Friendly staff, big rooms, deco is nice and modern, liked the fact there was aa big balcony, I used to get some fresh air.
