Hudson Valley 9w Motel

A surprisingly great experience. When booking an older, small motel like this one, a person should never expect too much. I stay ay such places frequently, as i care more about price and location than luxurious accommodations. I use motels to get a few short hours of sleep. I don't have the need for anything more than a bed, honestly. So, when I booked this place, the only real concern I had possibly bedbugs, and maybe the AC wouldn't work. Nothing else would really affect. However, i must say i was pleasantly surprised by my stay here. I was greeted by a very nice couple, whom i wouldn't be surprised to find out were new owners of the establishment. I really think they care about thr place and their customers. Obviously, i did not explore any room but my own, but my room could be considered to be "like new" for the most part. New AC, new fridge, new microwave, new mattresses, new bedframes. You could quite literally smell the "new" in the room. The giant flat screen TV still had the protective plastic film on the edges, and was a bigger TV than i usually have in much more expensive hotels. Now, is the place absolutely flawless? No. It's probably existed since the 1950s, judging by the the old sign by the road. Paris Hilton would not likely be impressed, but any normal person who would book a motel like this one is bound to be impressed by quality of the rooms and the management. I recommend it highly to anyone needing a place in the area.

Not ideal for getting any sleep, unfortunately. I’m not sure if it’s an issue with the door or the walls, but you can hear everything around you. We were unlucky enough to have a really noisy family in the room next door. From around 11 pm until 5:45 am both nights we could hear them slamming things around in their room, yelling, and swearing. It was relentless and made it basically impossible to get any rest. The beds are also very uncomfortable, and when you get into the room everything is unplugged, even the mini fridge. So if you need to put anything in the fridge you’ll need to plug it back in for a while before you can use it. I do not have high expectations for lodgings, I just want a place to sleep and store my belongings, but I need to be able to get a comfortable night of sleep at minimum- which did not happen here. Additionally, if you stay here, PACK YOUR OWN SOAP. The little soaps they leave you are tiny and not big enough to actually shower.

This is NOT an establishment I would go to again. It looked like a halfway house facility. The clientele seems to be more long-time patrons (like, they live their with their families) than someone staying overnight.

Basic but clean and comfortable We had a great stay in this basic but clean motel. The front desk lady was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Not a fancy place, but the location is quiet and the room was comfortable. Would stay here again.
