You can see the fjord, I think it should be a very popular hotel in summer. The room is clean and the service is OK. It’s just that sometimes I ignore others.

Fjord view room, facilities are very clean, sanitary, slightly old Parking is free! ! ! ! too important Parking in Norway usually costs 40 euros a night, but it’s free here! ! The hotel facilities and environment are great. The dinner buffet is not expensive and has a lot of choices. Suitable for vacation and leisure There were some problems with previous orders. Ctrip’s service was very good and they were properly resolved.

We visited the hotel this summer, and had a bad experience. This time was really different! We got a great room with view, the food was much better (both dinner and breakfast) and the whole experience gave us a feeling of luxury and wellness. The atmosphere was different and much more relaxing - from mass tourism and busses this summer to families and couples in autumn. We got the impression of improvement from summer, wich is very good. We also feel that the management take the coments seriously and genuinly wishes to improve. The staff has both times been very professional and polite. This time we can give our best recomandations to this place.

4 stars for this jotel is a joke based on the la k of service Arrived after 21 and had not eaten all day. Unfortunately the kitchen was closed so we asked the reception staff if they could help us with some simple crackers or dry flatbread-anything would be ok. The staff was agressively uninterested and unwilling to find solutions. Had to drive to nearest town in Kinsarvik and only thing open was Kinsarvik hotel where the staff opened the kitchen and whipped out two pizzas. I would highly reccomend looking at Kinsarvik hotel instead. Very nice and helpfull staff with an interest in helping out.

Our group of 3 couples spent two days at this hotel. It is a beautiful, well run hotel in one of the most scenic spots in Norway. Rooms were very comfortable. Food served for breakfast and dinner buffet style, with a large selection of dishes and food quality is very high given the buffet style. Some of our group tried to go on one of the many hiking trails close to the hotel, but got lost and returned to the hotel without completing the hike. Using an app like All Trails may be helpful. We booked the cider tour at a local farm, just a few minutes walk from the hotel (about USD$40 per person), and it was great - the area is known for its ciders, and the cider lived up to its reputation. There are both alcoholic and non-alcoholic ciders to try. Service and service personnel were excellent. Would not hesitate to stay at the hotel again if I am in the area. Also, about 5 min walk from the hotel there is grocery store and very good small bakery cafe with great coffee.

We stayed here as a family of 5 in the 5 person room. This was by far the most memorable hotel of the eight we stayed in across Scandinavia. It's not just a place to sleep for the night but an attraction on its own. The hotel's location between fjords, mountains, orchards and waterfalls is one of the nicest I've stayed in. However, the nearest town of note would be Odda, which is about 30 minutes away by very narrow and twisting road, thus your dining options are limited when staying here. The breakfast buffet was very good, as was the dinner buffet. Dinner buffet is way overpriced though. The hotel has a special pool for kids, a playroom, and many activities they can participate in. However, the dining is not kid friendly and the menu needs to be expanded to better accommodate a child's appetite. We really enjoyed the multiple pools (indoor and outdoor) and the 200+ foot long section of pool leading to the outdoor infinity pool overlooking the Hardangerfjord. We also had a great time borrowing one of the paddle boats the hotel has for loan. The room was showing its age and is in need of an upgrade. However the beds were comfortable, the blackout curtains did the job, and we all had a good sleep. The common areas of the hotel, though from a bygone era, are well preserved to showcase the interesting history of this historic and incredible hotel. We would absolutely stay here again, however we would go elsewhere for dinner. It was not worth 2,616 NOK for the 5 of us considering the only thing my kids ate were french fries!

I stayed here with my wife, and our main goal was the hike at “Dronningstien”. The hotel seems a bit worn down, and is missing some basic maintenance to keep its atmosphere. The food was the biggest disappointment, with mostly very dry and over cooked meat. The chicken breasts was the best experience, and cooked to the right temperature. A few from the staff seemed to have some kind of attitude. The staff in the dining room did their best under the circumstances. All-in-all, we did not feel that we got a reasonable value for money. For next year I will strongly consider to spend my money on camping gear, and rather stay at the nearby camping. Hence I would recommend to seek other alternatives, if I was to visit Lofthus again.
