Great venue with brilliant views of Loch Broom from the restaurant. Attentive and friendly staff. Food was amazing ( Duck breast with anise jus, seasonal veg and creamy mash) £25 but worth every single penny. Special mention to restaurant manager, Paula and waiting staff Kathryn. Made you feel like you belonged there. Would recommend highly. Will return. Bar is also exceptional, well tended by Donnie, with great selection of whisky, gins and beers. (Guinness is top drawer!) Fantastic all round! Well done The Royal.

Nice modern hotel with good parking area. Nice outlook to sea. Very comfy bed / pillows. Nice breakfast and bar. Arrival of a cruise ship added some interest in the newly revamped harbour Area. The Loch Seaforth ferry to Stornoway is a super boat to do some sea life watching from. CalMac staff all superb.

This was a quaint hotel with super friendly staff. The dining room was nice and the food was good for breakfast as well as dinner. The dining room overlooked the water so the view was fabulous. The housekeeping staff, as well as the bartender and host were friendly and helpful and made the experience wonderful!

A very nice hotel opposite the bay. Breakfast was good but evening food was expensive. Only reason for 3 stars was the location of our room, directly above the kitchen and the very noisy, extractor fan. Honestly it was draining. I spoke to reception who said it would stop at 9pm which it did but then there was the clearing away noise and bins being put out for about another hour. At 6:07am it all started again. So, if you're given the keys to room 42, give them straight back.

Grand hôtel au bord de l’eau à 2 minutes du village. Grande chambre propre et confortable. Salle de bain propre et refaite à neuf. Hôtel calme et propre. Accueil sympathique. Restaurant correct. Petit déjeuner, décevant. Personnel du restaurant efficace.

Als dritte Staion auf unsere Schottland Rundreise stand das Royal Hotel in Ullapool auf unserer Liste. Das Hotel ist zwar schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, und die Einrichtung wirkt ein wenig altbacken. Das Hotel ist jedoch sauber und ordentlich. Es liegt kurz außerhalb des Ortszentrums, so dass die Lage recht ruhig ist. Unangenehm ist, dass man wenn man das Hotel durch den Hintereingang vom Rückseitig gelegenen Parkplatz aus betreten möchte den kompletten Pub des Hotels durchqueren muss. Das Frühstück ist ordentlich und für schottische Verhältnisse gut. Das Abendessen im Hoteleigenen Restaurant ebenfalls qualitativ gut, im Vergleich jedoch recht teuer. Das Personal war durchweg sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Sowohl im Restaurant als auch im Hotel selber.

Although we were disappointed that there there were no staff at reception on arrival and we had to find someone our stay at The Royal Hotel was wonderful. Our room was well equipped and very comfortable. There’s free WiFi and plenty of off street parking. The food was freshly cooked and excellent value, both dinner and breakfast.

Cannot fault this hotel. Check in was very easy. Room was very clean and of a reasonable size. We had the added bonus of our own private balcony overlooking the loch. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent too. Overall very good value money and would certainly stay again.

Stayed here for one night before catching the ferry to Stornoway the following day. Lovely hotel, beautiful setting overlooking the ferry port. Ullapool itself a quaint little town. Our room was very nice, clean and modern. The bed was ok if you like a firm bed. Food at the hotel, both evening and breakfast was good and staff efficient and attentive. The only negatives were that there is no lift but the guy on reception did help us up with our cases, and the staircase was in dire need of a good vacuum, other than that all good.
