The service was excellent. The staff were very friendly and accommodating they spoke basic english and they made the effort to translate to help. We stayed at Uji Daiichi Hotel for three nights. At night, the city of Uji was really quiet and I slept well. It was a very good hotel. Breakfast was also delicious.

Booked two nights at Cha Inn, day 2 was room 206, the tatami, old furniture and small decorations were very nice, the air conditioner heated the room very quickly. Although it was a shared bathroom and the room was full that night, it was still very convenient. The only downside was that the window was facing a small street and there was occasional car noise, but it happened to be a little tired after walking for a few days, and I soon snored.

The owner is friendly and the facilities are ok. Private locker is paid and there is no TV instead. It's also an advantage to see the owner only when I first greeted and even check out is unmanned. Recommended during off-season. You can use a four-person room alone. The location is a bit out of the way because it is Uji, but it is not too far from Kyoto Station.
