We booked this wanting the living space and the backyard patio shown in these pictures. They do not exist. I will attach pictures. It’s an old farm house, each room has a locking door, so you are renting just a bedroom. Rooms full of knick knacks and stuff. Be aware that shared facilities means 8 people using 2 bathrooms. Only 1 shower. Down stairs bathroom had a high chair, ironing board and Angus’ private clothing. Angus was very nice and accommodating. But the pictures posted by owner here are only party correct!

Quiet, very clean, well organized and taken care of. Amazing view from our room! There are two shared bathrooms, one with a shower upstairs and we never had to wait more than a few minutes. Small occupancy and felt cozy and private in our room. The host offers instant noodle pots, wine, beer and snacks for a small donation to the Mountain Rescue as well as plenty of complimentary sweets and hot drinks. No kitchen but there's a small fridge and microwave in the porch. A general store with plenty of options a few miles down plus a nice restaurant and a cafe made it easy to feed ourselves. There was a fold out table to play board games and eat plus books all around. Not much interaction with the hosts or other guests, not a party atmosphere. A lovely home base to explore this spectacular island. I recommend making local dinner reservations and it's a tight fit to back into the parking space in back. Great stay!

Au départ, comme appréciation, je pensais noter qu’une douche pour 8 personnes, ce n’était pas suffisant. Seulement, lors de notre premier matin sur l’île de Skye, au moment du breakfast, nous avons posé 2 questions à Angus, le maître des lieux : Pouvons-nous avoir plus de pain ? Comment remplir la bouilloire alors qu’elle ne passe pas sous les petits robinets ? Si vous n’êtes pas contents, partez d’ici ! a-t-il répondu en nous agressant. Puis, de manière belliqueuse, il a demandé à chacun de nous : Es-tu content ? Tu n’es pas content ? Va-t-en ! Quittez les lieux ! Je vais appeler la police ! Ce comportement inattendu et inapproprié est proprement indigne d’un propriétaire qui loue une chambre pour deux personnes plus de 100€ la nuit. Ce Angus fait malheureusement honte à l’Écosse et aux Écossais, il contrevient à l’hospitalité et au commerce honnête. Nous vous recommandons d’éviter à tout prix cet endroit !

Angus is a very nice host, the Cottage itself is offering all you need and is well situated to explore the Isle of Skye. Breakfast is served by Angus in the rooms as there is no community room. Only disadvantage in my opinion that you can not open the Windows in your room, but we have also not asked Angus for the key.

Just spent a wonderful week in caro's cottage at cartole cottages, what a truly great place to stay, the hosts could not have been better and the accommodation was so well equipped it puts my home to shame! Seriously if you're looking for a holiday in this part of the country I think you would be hard pressed to find better, thank you both and look forward to returning again!

Just stayed at Saetr Cottage and what a lovely break it was! Cottage and surroundings are beautiful, so peaceful sitting out in the landscaped garden listening to the birds. The owners provide everything you need, including wifi and Netflix. If you're looking for a relaxing break with plenty of scenery then this cottage is ideal. Really enjoyed our stay here (just would have liked a shop within walking distance)
