Everything was fantastic… it was hard to get a reservation for the restaurant as a guest of the hotel and the dinner service that we happened to make it to were both terrible. The overall experience was amazing and it’s a beautifully located in Ucluelet !

Black Rock Oceanfront is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at in Canada, It is upscale and luxurious. It is located within walking distance of the Trans Pacific hiking trail and the Lighthouse.
It has a heated outdoor pool.and a hot tub overlooking the ocean, as well as a fitness room. There are two oceanfront restaurants. They offer the same menu. One is more formal while the other has a casual bar-like feel. The food is very good although pricey, like most places in Ucluelet and Tofino.
Our room at the lodge was large. It had a spectacular view of Big Beach and the ocean from the balcony, which was large enough for more than 2 people to sit at. However, you could see and hear your neighbours enjoying their balconies too. There was a large, ultra-modern bathroom with a separate rainfall shower. There was also a 2-person bathtub located next to a covered glass window. If you uncover that window during daylight, you could see the ocean across the room and balcony.
I prefer Ucluelet because it's quieter than Tofino, and would definitely stay at Black Rock Oceanfront again in a heartbeat.

Booked Black Rock on a recommendation from a friend. And I owe her one. I went with 2 friends from Victoria. Since it was raining quite a bit thee drive was a tad scary but as the speed limitsare slow,was okay. You count pay me to drive that in the winter however. Cora at reception was so lovely checking us in. Made us feel right at home and told us we would love the room, and we did. Had a good partial view of he ocean and the forest was right outside our balcony. The food was good and though it was a bit pricey for me, apparently it was okay in comparison to Victoria. All of the staff were so wonderful, Cora at front desk (the 3 others were great but i didn't get their names), Kristopher in the lounge, Grayson and Richard(?) in the restaurant. The robes are the softest, most comfortable robes. And would cost $100 plus tax, whether you bought one or stole one (inside joke with front desk staff). The hot tub was HOT and the plunging pool was COLD which I guess is as it should be. Would have loved a regular warm pool, but I guess you can't have everything. Going home was an even wetter drive and I was glad when we "landed", but it was a wonderful getaway for us

We stayed for 3 nights in a forest view room which had separate bedroom and lounge area. The room was spacious and the bathroom wonderful with the large shower etc. We were surprised that there is not a daily room servicing (stayed in 7 hotels during our stay in Canada and this was the only one that didnt) although you could ask for towels etc if required. The hotel is situated in a magnificent position and is in easy reach of Ucluelet and the Pacific Rim area. We ate in Currents restaurant which was pleasant but nothing special for the price.

This is an exceptional resort with fantastic staff, an amazing location and wonderful facilities. Everything about this resort and our stay matched or exceeded our expectations and we wouldn't consider staying anywhere else.

Wonderful location with view over the sea and experience the waves, the tides etc. Located ideally at the sea, to some distance to the village but even the village is reachable by a short and nice walk. Good and nice restaurant. We enjoyed also very much the Lounge.
