We stayed at Pigeon for two nights before moving on to Göreme, and it was such a delightful experience! Pigeon is run by a lovely family—İbrahim (apologies if I’ve spelled the name wrong!), Eser, and their son. Eser is incredibly friendly and always eager to help. Thanks to her, we booked a hot air balloon ride at a great price. Her husband, though a bit more reserved, has a wonderful sense of humor (especially when he joked about not liking Eser’s cooking!). Speaking of Eser’s cooking, it truly is the crown jewel of our stay. We absolutely loved her homemade dishes—everything from the jams and dips to the meatballs and clay pot kebab was fantastic. While it may not rival starred cuisine, it’s as comforting and delicious as a home-cooked meal, especially on cold winter nights. I wish we had planned more time in Uçhisar, a peaceful and charming little town, but I’ll save that for my next visit.

Perched on the hillside below the Uchisar Castle, you couldn’t ask for a better location to watch the Cappadocia balloons ascend at sunrise. This family run hotel offers lovely, comfy cave rooms decorated with authentic pieces; some having been made by the owner’s own family members. Great authentic Turkish breakfasts and many other restaurants within walking distance. The owners are welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend this hotel to give you the full Cappadocia experience

This is a smaller B&B style hotel situated overlooking pigeon valley, one of the valleys leading down into Goreme. It sits at the base of the famous castle and within a hundred or so meters of the town square, with plenty of authentic restaurants and small markets. The top of the walkway down to the hotel is also just a hundred or so meters from the local taxi rank (Ari’s) and car rental and at end 2024 prices just a $10 cab ride down to Goreme and back. Much quieter than the bustle of the tourists in Goreme. Nice cave rooms with suites that have large windows and balconies overlooking the valley. Breakfast is a traditional Turkish spread - all run by a husband and wife team. Great value and perfect location if you want to be alone or want to be out of the noise of the main tourist Centre’s. It’s not a chain hotel of course but some rooms have jacuzzi baths and all the neccessary amenities. Highly recommended as a value proposition for seeing the sites of the region.

Going beyond your expectations; That can be said of Eser and her family who were outstanding hosts during the time we were in Cappadocia. Every query I had was responded to quickly. Eser is a great resourceful person who has extensive knowledge of the local setting. You can rely on her expertise to guide your trip and enjoy local experiences too. We loved a visit to the local markets with Eser as she got her groceries for the weekend’s cooking. She is also A culinary genius so please do dine in at Pigeon Hotel! She also ensured we got to the airport on time for our flight even with a hot air balloon delay of one hour that day! So thankful for Eser!

You should definitely choose this wonderful hotel, look out over Pigeon Valley from the terrace, enjoy a delicious and beautifully set breakfast and head out on an adventure!

Замечательный отель, с замечательным видом на долину, в котором вы сможете прочувствовать дух и атмосферу Кападокии. Отель наполнен теплотой и уютом. На террасе с видом на долину и горы завтракать или пить кофе одно удовольствие. А утром вы сможете любоваться прекрасным видом на шары. Хозяева очень культурные и приятные люди. Отдельное спасибо Эсер ханым. Помогут и ответят на любые вопросы, посоветуют и организуют экскурсии. Вкусный, домашний завтрак. Остались очень довольны, дети в восторге.

To begin with I have been solo travelling. And the best thing I could do was stay at pigeon hotel. The owner, host Eser made me feel as I was in my own home. She cooked breakfast and the manager Ibrahim the nicest guy also knocked my door and made sure I don't miss my breakfast. The amenities were immaculate. The cave room was worth the experience. If you are in Capadocia , this is the place to stay. Look no further then this. Looking forward to staying here again.

Verblijven in dit hotel in Cappadocië was echt een magische ervaring! Het uitzicht op de feeënschoorstenen en heteluchtballonnen bij zonsopgang was adembenemend. Het personeel was ontzettend gastvrij en deed er alles aan om ervoor te zorgen dat we ons op ons gemak voelden. Onze kamer was knus en prachtig ingericht, met een mix van modern comfort en authentieke Turkse charme. Het ontbijt was heerlijk met veel lokale opties, en we genoten elke avond van het ontspannen op het terras. Ik raad deze plek ten zeerste aan voor iedereen die de ware schoonheid en warmte van Cappadocië wil ervaren!
