The surprise in Úbeda was staying in the garden room of the Úbeda Castle Hotel. We arrived at the hotel at 4 o'clock. Half of the area was under maintenance, but the front desk arranged a room with a garden for us, which was the best arrangement during this trip to southern Spain.

The location and the hotel were very good. Some parts of the room (lamps, for example) looked like they could be improved with a little investment. The breakfast, compared to other paradores, was weaker than average.

If only they had told us about the renovations.
Perfect location. Beautiful hotel. Friendly staff with excellent English speakers among them. Great breakfast. But for some reason one of our rooms was much nicer than the other and much of the hotel was undergoing renovation and there was scaffolding inside and out.

Obras en la fachada y en el patio interior me estropearon mi estancia por el ruido y por esconder la belleza del edificio. No pude disfrutar del parador por el movimiento de los obreros y el ruido de las renovaciones. Deben haber avisado al hacer la reserva para que no sentirme engañada. Además camareros inatentos y dejados. Tuve que levantarme yo a pedir café y el desayuno caliente porque ellos no estaban atentos a los clientes. Para peor, todavía- la camarera se equivocó dos veces en dos mañanas distintas de mi pedido del desayuno. Muy mal servicio por poco interés de su parte. Picatostes de canela servidos sun canela, solamente azúcar. Una pena.

I loved this hotel because it’s authentic and real while also very luxurious by my standards. The jr suite had two rooms and a huge bathroom, large operating windows leading to balconies overlooking the main plaza. Service is excellent. The restaurant is tops with cuisine and service to match.

Wenn fertig renoviert sicher sehr schön!
Leider wurde grossflächig renoviert. Kein Lärm aber der Gesamteindruck hat doch gelitten. Personal sehr freundlich, vor Allem im Restaurant !Hohe Zimmer mit originellem Plattenboden!

This is a beautiful Parador right on the main square in Úbeda. It is the perfect place to stay in this magical town. The town is renowned for its exceptional Renaissance architecture and has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This "Parador de Úbeda," is officially known as Parador de Turismo Condestable Dávalos, and is indeed located within the UNESCO World Heritage zone of Úbeda's historic center. The building itself is a 16th-century Renaissance palace that was once the residence of the noble Dávalos family. The rooms are spacious and give you a feeling of staying in a Renaissance building. And of course, you are. It was a great stay and one I am so glad we didn't miss.
