Magoebaskloof Hotel is set in one of the most breathtaking locations – the views of the valley are absolutely incredible and really make the stay special. The staff were truly exceptional too – warm, helpful, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. That said, the rooms are a bit tired and could be cleaner. The bathrooms are quite dated and would really benefit from a revamp. Small touches – like matching taps, a TV that’s properly aligned, and milk for coffee that isn’t rock solid – would go a long way in improving the overall experience. The restaurant menu is quite limited, especially if you're vegetarian or gluten-free. The breakfast buffet has a good spread, but it’s pricey, and unfortunately, there’s no alternative breakfast option. For someone who is gluten-free, paying full price for just fruit and grated cheese doesn’t feel great value. All in all, the views and the staff make it a memorable stay, but with a few upgrades and more inclusive food options, it could be truly fantastic.

Everything is outdated, from the bathroom to the room and also the buildings, furniture in the restaurant and bar area. The tap water was also dirty that I couldn’t even brush my teeth.Disappointed and terrible experience.

I enjoyed the old world feeling to the place as it fits in with the overall being in nature experience. The place does need some upkeep( New carpets and a new cour of paint in the rooms and hallways). The hotel also needs some modernization ( USB type plugpoints,2 point plugs, and fans/ aircons) and repairs to room doors. The restaurant needs a major shake up as the menu is limited, stock is limited and staff is not very attentive.I ordered a breakfast pack as I was leaving early in the morning and although reception took my order and required time the night before, the restaurant nor the reception not open when I checked out.I will be back for a recreational visit..but not for business

Where do I start? Our fist room was dank, the hot water for shower took ages to come through. Obviously a very old structure and far from the geyser. The room hadn't been refurbished in a long time. After complaining we were moved upstairs to a much improved room. Generally, the whole hotel needs lots of tender loving care, and considering the most amazing situation and view the management should do something.

Durable but lots of room for improvement Very average stay. Although the staff was friendly and helpful. Our rooms bathroom light didn’t work so they sent maintenance to sort it immediately. The hair dryer in the room was in horrific condition. There’s no mirror in the bathroom but there is one in the room. There was a moldy smell. Only 2 channels on the television.

Firstly, the staff was excellent. The building needs upgrading, as it is in a deplorable condition. We were upgraded to a “suite”, where the entrance door couldn’t be locked, even when we changed rooms, the same problem persists. There was no water for a while, and although we were informed by a local that the problem was fixed, we were still inconvenienced with muddy, or no water. Property really needs an upgrade.
