I was 1 of a group of 60+ in June that traveled to Belize’s Turneffe Island with the promise of a 5-star Padi resort. It quickly turned into a deep disappointment, starting from the boat trip to the island. What should have been a 90-minute boat ride stretched into an extremely long and rough trip, soaking many in our group, along with our personal items, carry-ons, and luggage. One in our group lost his laptop due to being drenched with salt water, and there weren’t enough life vests for everyone. 1 of the other boats carrying additional members of our group broke down on the way and had to do an ocean transfer to another boat. That same boat broke down on the 1st day of diving, and they had to acquire another boat. The 5-star PADI certified Dive Shop was nonexistent. There was nowhere to purchase or repair equipment. Roll call after dives, rule,s and procedures were hit and miss. My dive gear wasn’t stored as promised, but sat on the boat at night. The docks, essential for a diving resort, were warped and full of holes, posing a safety risk. The dining experience was another significant source of frustration. Belize Dive Haven shows beautifully presented meals on their website, but we didn’t receive anything close to those photos. We lined up for food that was consistently lukewarm with an extremely limited menu served by the staff from 4-5 chafing dishes without any heat source underneath. The meals often consist of the same uninspired dishes of a spoonful each of rice, beans, chopped veggies, and a small meat portion, usually chicken. Meal times were short, portions were small, and they ran out of food several times. The lack of any snacks throughout the day, coupled with the poor quality of the meals and options, made the entire dining experience a genuine low point of the trip. The bar was understocked and understaffed from the very first night. They were unable to make many popular drinks due to a lack of ingredients. Alcoholic Drinks and soda were only available from the bar, as there weren’t any waiters. This was particularly frustrating given that the resort was expecting a large group of guests. There wasn’t any bar service for the pool either. You had to get out of the pool and walk to the dining room bar to get a drink. The state of the property was a major concern, with a large portion of the amenities shuddered and left to fall into disrepair. There wasn’t a manned front or lobby desk; it was deserted. Approximately half of the hotel's buildings were visibly neglected, with no signs of maintenance or cleaning for an extended period. Only 1 of the 2 pools was filled, and all the water features around the pools were empty and full of debris. Most of the beach was buried in Sargassum seaweed. The Spa was in a guest room. The Ballroom was full of molding, rotting furniture. Most floors in the main building had water inundating closed-up areas during rainstorms. There were cracked windows, missing glass panels, peeling paint, bathroo

Just got back from an amazing vacation at Belize Dive Haven, and I can’t speak more highly about our time there. We had a group of 20+ and the staff went out of their way to make sure everyone was taken care of. Chef Bol and his team were outstanding. They made sure all the different dietary preferences in our group were met. We had fresh lobster and fish and we had plated dinners every evening — usually served by 7:00 or 7:30. There were snacks at the bar each night around 5:00 — one evening we even had lionfish fingers from a fresh catch. And the fresh-baked cookies they brought out at lunch and after dives on the boat were a really nice touch. Britney was fantastic — she spent time with the few kids in our group who weren’t diving so the adults could all go out together. That made a big difference, and we were really grateful. As for the diving — it was exceptional. Half Moon Caye and The Elbow are some of the best spots I have ever been. And The Blue Hole, spectacular. I can only speak for the crew on my boat, but Captain Crunch, Sharpie, Brian, and Oscar were a pleasure to be with. Friendly, experienced, and fun to be around. We felt safe and well taken care of every step of the way. Honestly, I wish I could give everyone a shoutout by name, but that would take too long — the entire staff made this trip something special. I’ve read a few of the negative reviews from the large group from June 2025 and was a little nervous going in. After the trip, I feel like those folks may have gone in with the wrong expectations. This is a remote resort — it takes about 1.5 hours by ferry from Belize City — and while that means there may be some logistical limitations, it’s also what makes the place feel so special. If you’re looking for a quiet getaway with world-class diving and a team that genuinely cares, this is it. You better Belize we will be back!

Well I was a part of soon to be infamous group of 60 with Scubaboard. My first review of any "resort". I'm doing to protect yourself from the literal hardships and nightmares of a week long vacation at this dumpster fire. I'm a 61 yr old male who has been doing resort all inclusive diving trips since I was 18. I will go into great detail, partly because my organizer discounted the bad reviews for this "resort" and it's "fake news" 5 * reviews. I was with my wife, thankfully we didn't bring the kids this time. My wife and I landed in Belize and put our luggage onto a really poor condition bus. No seat belts, no ac lol, pretty unsafe. We caught the bigger boat to the Atoll and I met the owner, Hakim, on the boat ride over. Met up with other staff as well and found out they're only taking care of us. There's no one else here. They opened and closed a week later for us. Ok. Weird. Bad start, and it got much worse. First night food was 1 thin crust pizza cooked one at a time. They would give you 2 tiny slices after a 30 minute wait (4 bites). Should have waited, it would have been the last hot meal I would have. I would really grow to appreciate hot food over the next week lol. The hotel is strange, falling apart, power out constantly, wifi weak and only can get it in the room. A belt broke on a generator on Friday so we had no power our last afternoon and they had to go to the mainland to get a replacement. We walked by a volleyball beach setup with a rotten net, an exercise room with 4 dumbbells and a kindergarten sized basketball hoop at like 7ft lol. There were 2 dart boards, and I love darts. I asked for darts and was told they didn't keep them because they "rust". Tip. Bring your own darts lol, it's the only thing to do. Thank God we didn't have bad weather, I could not imagine. No spa, no restaurants, storage room empty. In the room, our tv never worked. I contemplated calling someone but there was no phone. The bathroom door was translucent. Anyone walking by knows your exact position lol. There's also a window into the shower. Because you want to be able to look from the shower, into the room, or the opposite. Some didn't have hot water, or water pressure was terrible. We had decent water pressure and hot water. Toilet paper was another matter, When we were almost out I was talking to an employee who did room cleaning service and was able to get a second roll of toilet paper for me and the wife. No map for the property, no one to contact, only 1 key, no soap or old soap left from a previous guest. Nasty hair in the shower. The food is on a whole new level of disgusting you can only imagine. The first dinner we had was at 9 Saturday night after our arrival. People were starving after a long day of travel and after having to share 6 thin crust pizzas lol. Food finally arrived at 9, cold rice, beans and chicken. They're trying to heat a large container of food with one sterno burner, 6 inches below t

Nothing about this resort is as advertised, except the diving. Limited food options that were luke warm at best and most of the resort is in a terrible state of repair. About half the hotel and most of the buildings were abandoned with no maintenance or cleaning for years. One pool had water in it but the other was empty. No dive shop, the "spa" was in one of the hotel rooms. Worth about 25% of what they are charging.

Boat breaks down two days in a row. Food is limited, when it runs out, is out and there are no other restaurants or shacks available to eat. Breakfast food was served and over by 8:00am. The resort is advertised as a 5 star, but I am confident it will barely made a 1 star. Not recommended, read the reviews, they are TRUE and exact to what we experienced for one long week. Bottom line it felt like a castaway prison all week long.

The food is not healthy or plentiful...I normally don't take the time to write reviews but this time it is imperative as I want to pay this resort back for the poor quality of food they offered. Especially for the price. Note this is a revenge post. There are no options here, there is no store and no restaurant. If you don't have enough to eat that is it. The food ran out... If you want to buy something else... where are you going to go...if you must go to this resort... Take same snacks....you were warned. I will never go to the resort again.

Belize Dive Haven is a beautiful destination with incredible potential. While there are a few areas that could use improvement, the exceptional staff truly make up for it with their professionalism and warm hospitality. The pool is massive—perfect for a relaxing swim and the diving experiences are absolutely breathtaking. My only critique would be the food and beverage offerings. I’d love to see the natural juices made from fresh fruits rather than concentrates. That said, I would definitely return given the chance—it’s an unforgettable experience overall.

Our trip to Belize Dive Haven was not good! Do not believe the sites pictures or positive reviews. Short on available space; Boat ride over was horrendous. Boat was too small and over crowded. Waves over the top and soaked. No welcome upon arrival, no hotel staff. 1 Room key. Room was unclean and dirty. Used soap and hair ties in bathroom. Floor dirty. 2 inch deep sink. Food was rationed, served as buffet, often ran out. Food was mostly rice and beans. All meals were cold,No supplies for bar, no mixers. 1 pool was empty. No hot tubs running. No service at pool or anywhere. Beach was unusable and covered in trash. Docks are starting to fall apart. Kayaks were unusable. Exercise room consisted of 5-6 dumb bells. When it rain it pooled in the hotel hall ways. Mold is present on the doors. Boat ride back was horrible with another soaking. Do not visit this location,
