I had stayed at Renvyle for what I think was my 4th stay in August and mistakenly left an item of value behind. I've always loved Renvyle and was initially disappointed with the response to my quest for my missing item. I was subsequently contacted by Ben, the Customer Services Manager who went above and beyond the call of duty to resolve the issue. He was extremely kind and helpful and is a huge asset to this business. He managed to turn what I initially felt was a negative experience into a positive and as a consequence I look forward to visiting Renvyle again.

I stayed here for a weekend in mid August. I had stayed a couple of times previously . While eating dinner in the restaurant I noticed the guy in charge spoke to the staff in a rather unpleasant way which made me feel quite uncomfortable. The restaurant is very noisy and busy and not a pleasant environment to enjoy a meal in. A few weeks after my stay I noticed I had left behind a very expensive bottle of perfume. I knew precisely where I'd left it. I called a number of times and eventually spoke to a rather abrupt housekeeper who told me that the perfume had not been found. When I expressed surprise, she asked me if I was accusing her staff of taking the perfume in a belligerent tone. Suffice to say I will never stay in this hotel again.

We had an amazing few days at Renvyle and were delighted with our experience getting married the hotel. We were indebted to Ben, who took care of us in the months beforehand and over the weekend, Anne-Marie who ran everything so smoothly, Majella who helped my wife Amelia massively on the morning of the wedding and all of the staff who provided fantastic food and drinks for us all weekend, including especially Tomás, and there was no request too trivial to accomodate from any member of staff. We would highly recommend a wedding at Renvyle. David and Amelia

I love Renvyle House and it was my first time going there as a solo traveller. It was wonderful and the sunshine made it idyllic. It was very good value for a 2 night mid-week break with a fabulous 5 course dinner and really delicious breakfasts. I read my book and walked and soaked in the hot tub looking out at the blue sea and the mountains. I chatted to guests and the lovely staff and the exuberant AnnMarie. Where does she get her energy? There was a harp recital one evening and a guided walk. I would have had a massage but they were booked up. I'll be back

Excellent, family friendly hotel. Food is amazing and very reasonably priced for such high end food. Really comfortable beds with gorgeous sea views. Really lovely, helpful staff - Anne Marie is brilliant and very attentive. Band in the bar were brilliant also. A great atmosphere all round, I can’t wait to go back!

We spent a fantastic three nights at Renvyle House with friends and their young children. It is in a fantastic location - beside the Atlantic Ocean, close to Kylemore Abbey and the Connemara National Park. Rooms were great, food outstanding, staff super friendly (Anne- Marie seems to be everywhere checking that everyone is happy). The bar was open late with plenty of laughter and singing! Range of guests - including quite a few Irish families celebrating special occasions! Also unbelievably reasonable “all in” proce for accommodation and food. Big contrast to Ballynahinch Castle which we visited beforehand - coach loads of American tourists and has lost its soul).

We really enjoyed our stay at Renvyle House Hotel last week. We received a very warm welcome from the General Manager, Anne Marie, when we arrived. She's super! She kept checking in with us throughout our stay to make sure we were enjoying our time there. Breakfast was fabulous and the new bathrooms are gorgeous. The beds are comfy and the hotel is full of home comforts. It was great value for money. We can't wait to return.

Before writing this review, just let your mind dream about this. Renvyle House Hotel has a lake at its front door, the Atlantic Ocean at its back, and the mountains of Connemara as a backdrop, to formulate the setting of this fabulous property. The character and charm of the hotel is unrivaled. My wife and I just returned from our 30th or so stay at Renvyle House Hotel. This was a 4-night event. We had another wonderful experience at this lovely property. As previously highlighted, the hotel is a stone’s throw away from the Atlantic Ocean and is surrounded by lakes and mountains. When entering the premises, you have indeed entered the "stress free zone". It just does not get any better than this. The staff is led by Anne Marie Kelly (General Manager) and she is exceptional in all respects. Ann Marie is extremely competent and genuinely nice. Anne Marie leads by example and the staff has certainly bought into her vision for Renvyle House Hotel. Anne Marie has a superior attention to detail talent that goes unmatched. She has made significant improvements to the property, in a short period of time, to an already exceptional property. I can't say enough kind words about the wonderful Reception staff; pub employees; breakfast and dinner folks; and simply terrific housekeeping personnel. This includes the great people in the laundry area. Collectively or individually, they are all the best at what they do!! WE HAVE STAYED IN A VARIETY OF ROOMS OVER THE 30 PLUS YEARS OF VISITING AND HAVE NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED. ADDITIONALLY, WE HAVE ALWAYS FOUND THE POOL AND HOT TUB TO BE OF SUPERIOR QUALITY AND IMMACULATE! THE PROPERTY IS OLDER, HOWEVER IS MAINTAINED AT THE VERY HIGHEST STANDARD. ONE SHOULD JUST TAKE IN THE AMBIENCE, RELAX, AND SAVOR EVERY MOMENT. The food at Renvyle House is simply fantastic. Menus are quite diverse, so finding something you like will not be problematic. We really enjoyed the breakfast fare. I opted for the traditional Irish fare each morning and believe me I never departed hungry. My wife has tried different fares such as porridge, omelets, etc and all were delicious. Renvyle House dinners are also superb in all respects. The same brilliant chef has been on duty for more than 20-years. The restaurant personnel were all tremendous, competent, efficient, and personable. Renvyle House has an awesome Pub as well. Great bartenders; wonderful selection of drinks; and great food. The food is of superior quality, not your traditional Pub fare. Our assigned room was a beautiful suite and was tremendous in all respects. We had majestic views of the Atlantic Ocean and surrounding areas. All of the rooms are great; however, the room we occupied this visit was like heaven on earth. We can't thank Anne Marie enough! There is a myriad of activities onsite and around the area to participate in so one will not get bored. There are a number of walking trails on the premises (250 acres); a small golf course; croquet; swimming pool; and sa

What's not to love about Renvyle House Hotel. I first drove down that laneway as a young 20 something with my now wife. Let's say we are in our mid 50's now. Back then, it had a clear mystique and when we walked around the premises ( too young with not enough funds to stay) - there were a few famous people loitering by the pool which only added to the sense of prestige. We visited for coffee and drinks several times since, but this is the first time we treated ourselves to a stay. Our room was fab and spacious, at the back of the hotel overlooking the beach, with windows on two sides. The food was first rate. We had the set a la carte menu on one of the two nights and it was simply superb, washed down with a fine and affordable bottle of Tempranillo. The breakfast was also brilliant. Cooked to order, and with an excellent buffet of cereals, fruits and bread, in a very comfortable dining room. The bar area does bar food which we had on the other evening, and again, it was first rate and reasonably priced. The proximity to Renvyle Beach is also excellent, and you can swim at the back of the hotel as well, though we preferred the 2 minute drive to the sandy beach with the most glorious views over the Connemara Mountains and across to Clare Island, Inishbofin and north wards, the tip of Achill Island. Taking the bathrobes made the beach visits all the more comfortable. The pool area is great and the clientele is a rich mix of families, retirees, and couples. The hotel also sports a few tennis courts and a nearby lake where you can take one of the hotel's boats out for a row if you're feeling suitably inclined. The hotel has a rich history from its owner Oliver St John Gogarty and his merry band of house guests which included Yeats and Lady Gregory amongst many others. There is a clear vibe around the place. The staff are experienced and friendly. The service is professional and unfussy. many of the younger staff are from the four corners of the globe having come to Ireland to make a new life for themselves and have all been schooled in the unique ways of Renvyle House. And they all look like they love their workplace. And why wouldn't they. Manager Linda brings an air of quiet knowledge and advice about what the best things to do locally, though there are few reasons to leave such a place , except to walk in the astounding nearby landscapes which is a must. All in all we loved it and look forward to returning their very soon. One of the best few days and nights we have spent in a very long time.
